Space Race conspiracies: Lost cosmonauts, moon-landing theories, Russian cover-ups & the Judica-Cordiglia brothers

On Eavesdroppin' comedy podcast, Geordie & Michelle ponder whether the moon landing was a small step or a giant hoax... Do you believe the Americans really landed on the moon? Most people do, but there’s always been a vocal group of conspiracy theorists who say otherwise. In this episode, Geordie dives into the origins of one of the biggest conspiracy theories of the 20th century: the idea that Apollo 11 was a hoax, plus she explores the book that first ignited public doubt and how the story spiralled into global fascination. She also looks at Cold War tensions, government cover-ups and the mysterious case of Russia’s secret cosmonauts alongside the two Italian brothers who claimed to have intercepted secret radio transmissions that they believe prove something strange was going on behind the scenes of the space race. From missing astronauts to doctored footage and the politics of paranoia, this episode looks at how one small step for man became one giant leap for conspiracy. The Serpent: The crimes of Charles Sobhraj

On Eavesdroppin' comedy podcast, Geordie & Michelle look at a smooth-talkin' serial killer NOT called The Snake... Ever heard of a serial killer so smooth he made everyone think he was a nice guy who was helping them? That’s Charles Sobhraj — part conman, part celebrity criminal and known as The Serpent. Born in Saigon in 1944, he spent the 1970s drifting along Asia’s hippie trail, targeting free-spirited Western backpackers. One minute he was a friendly gem dealer or a rescuer helping with lost passports, the next, his victims were dead — poisoned, drowned or even burned. He stole their identities, travelled on their passports and lived off their money, all while committing at least a dozen murders across Thailand, Nepal and India. When he was finally caught in 1976, Charles Sobhraj turned prison into his own 'hotel', bribing guards, giving interviews and even escaping by drugging everyone at his own jailhouse party. So where is he now? Is he still in prison? And why is the world obsessed with The Serpent? Listen now! So grab a brown lemonade and settle in as the duo chat the Olympics, shark attacks, telly recs, MAFS Australia and more, only on Eavesdroppin’ comedy podcast. What happens during a near-death experience?

On Eavesdroppin' comedy podcast, Geordie & Michelle look at two near-death experiences with uncanny similarities… In 1982, a woman called Karen in Alaska went into hospital for what was meant to be routine back surgery - and almost died on the operating table. When Ginette Biro went into hospital for a minor gynaecological procedure, she, too, almost died. Both had near-death experiences; both experienced similar things. What did they see? What did they experience? Who did they meet? What did they learn from the spirits and divine guides they encountered? And why is kindness important? Listen now to these two women's moving stories and the life lessons they learned. Paul Loves Linda: The story of Paul & Linda McCartney

This week, Michelle shallow dives into the legend and folklore behind one of rock n' roll's most normal couples - Paul & Linda McCartney... When Paul and Linda met in 1967 at the Bag O Nails pub in London, you might think that it was all plain sailing from that first date to their wedding at Marylebone registry office 2 years later... Couldn't be further from the truth. There was shagging, there were missed connections and lots of obstacles to overcome, but by the time they married in 1969, just before the Beatles broke up, the pair were inseparable. In the early 1970s, after kids, a breakdown and a time-out on their farm in Kintyre, the pair formed the band Wings, which allowed Paul to continue making music while keeping Linda - and the kids - by his side. Despite criticism of the band, the media bullying of Linda and dubious tours, time would prove that the band, like their marriage, could endure almost anything and still come out on top. Listen now to the story of how they got together - and stayed together - to become one of rock’s most enduring love stories. So grab a brown lemonade and settle in as the duo chat about Dan the bespectacled postie, what an Eavesdroppin' doll might look like, telly recs and more, only on Eavesdroppin’ comedy podcast. The time ghost-lover Brocarde went to a haunted clown motel...

How do YOU feel about clowns? Are they cheerful entertainers who bring smiles to kids in hospitals—or creepy figures straight out of a nightmare? This week, Geordie revisits Brocarde—yes, that Brocarde, the woman who once claimed to be in love with a ghost named Edwardo. Well, this time she’s gone from Yorkshire all the way to Tonopah, Nevada, to visit the world-famous Clown Motel. And if that wasn't creepy enough, this clown motel is also haunted! Part-time paranormal investigator, full-time bizarro magnet, listen now to find out how Brocarde found herself connecting with a clown doll said to be possessed by the spirit of a tormented carnival performer, why people from around the world have sent their clown dolls to this crazy motel, and how Brocarde even tried to adopt a possessed carnival clown doll for herself. The Alvin Ridley story: Murder or a misunderstood love story?

When a woman was found dead in her home in Ringgold, Georgia, police were baffled for two reasons. First, her husband’s story didn’t add up. And second — no one in town even knew she existed. In one of America’s strangest and most twisty true-crime stories, Michelle dives into the mysterious case of Alvin Ridley. Did he murder his wife, Virginia? How could a woman live — and die — completely unseen for decades? Why was their house covered in post it notes? And why did lawyer McCracken Poston take on one of the most bizarre cases in Georgia history? Listen now as Michelle unravels the secrets, rumours and juice droppers behind the Alvin Ridley case.
