State run media

They only discuss things that don’t embarrass the US Bishops. They will spend 30 minutes giggling about Ed’s choice of beer, then 3 minutes about how the Vatican and US bishops are stonewalling on the investigation of clerical abuse coverups.

hey3of5 ,

Good podcast, and I used to really look forward to it.

That said, I honestly haven’t been able to make myself listen to a whole episode since the argument (no other word for it) about Communion in the hand vs on the tongue. As someone who believes very deeply in the Real Presence and who receives Communion in the hand, it was disheartening to hear the opinion expressed multiple times (in earnest) that my form of reception is somehow destroying others’ belief in the Blessed Sacrament. It felt like a slap in the face. I do thank Ed for his defense of both forms of reception.

This is a good, fun podcast, but that ep left a bad taste in my mouth that I can’t quite manage to shake. Listen for good Catholic conversation ... but not to that episode.

I love this podcast but…….

My husband and I love this podcast. We do have trouble understanding JD sometimes because he talks so fast and his microphone is not as strong as Ed’s and definitely not as loud as Carl’s when Carl does speak. So please strengthen JD’s audio. And kudos to Ed for defending those of us who prefer to receive Holy Communion (reverently) in the hand. I have had a few traumatic moment when receiving on the tongue. I don’t think it’s charitable of Carl or anyone to judge us. Again, we love the podcast.
