Life moves through a series of moments. Most are ordinary and follow the familiar rhythm of the day. Get out of bed.Go about the day.Fall back into bed. Wash. Rinse. Repeat. The days blur, one into the next, and we move through them half awake, and the wonder of life slips past us into the mundane. So much of life is lived on autopilot. Same old, same old. Yet now and again, a moment arrives that is extraordinary. A moment so striking, so far beyond the everyday, that it stops you in your tracks and stuns you awake. For a breath, you stand in another reality, and you remember that life is far more than the routine you had sunk into. These moments are often brief. Yet their imprint reaches deep. They leave a mark on the soul, reshaping how you see reality. The extraordinary comes as an invitation. To expand your awareness. To rise above the routine. To see the world with fresh eyes. These moments come to wake us up. To shake us from the trance, and remind us to truly see again. The moments that wake us. They take many forms, and you will know them when they come. A natural wonder that stops your breath. A sky of blazing red and gold at sunset. A vast display of stars on a clear night.A dancing array of northern lights. A sudden clarity, an insight that arrives unbidden and changes how you see your life. An unexpected kindness from a stranger, a gesture of warmth that turns your whole day around. A moment of deep connection with another. A shared laugh. A shared silence. The feeling of being truly seen. A place that feels like home, a beach, a forest, a hillside, where something in you settles and belongs. A creative spark, an idea that arrives whole, a line, a melody, an answer that lifts you. And sometimes a synchronicity that feels like a sign, the very thing you had been seeking appearing before you, as though the world had answered. Each of these carries the same invitation. To pause. To feel the wonder. To find the meaning. These extraordinary moments serve to wake you from the same old rhythm of the day, back into the fullness of being alive. Awareness is the doorway Awareness is what opens the extraordinary to you in the midst of the ordinary. Acting as a filter that decides what you notice, and what slips past. The doorway through which a new perception enters. When you cultivate awareness, you begin to see beneath the surface. The subtle beauty in an ordinary day. The way all things are woven together. The sacred that lives inside the plain and the everyday. What lifts a moment beyond the ordinary? A moment turns extraordinary when you are fully present, awake to the detail, the feeling, the connection you would otherwise pass by. It turns extraordinary when it moves you, when awe, or joy, or even sorrow rises and leaves its mark. It turns extraordinary when it surprises you, when something new breaks the pattern of the day and awakens your senses. It turns extraordinary when it carries meaning, a threshold crossed, a truth understood, a step into who you are becoming. It turns extraordinary when it is shared, when laughter, or closeness, or the feeling of being truly seen reminds you that you belong to a larger existence. It turns extraordinary when it lifts you through beauty, through creation, through a sense of the sacred drawing near. It turns extraordinary when it aligns with what you hold most true, when it sounds like your own essence, and you feel wholly yourself. And sometimes it turns extraordinary only later, in the stillness of reflection, when you return to it and understand at last what it came to show you. The extraordinary changes you. This is the transformation it brings. The extraordinary is a mirror It reflects your own capacity to change. It shows you what becomes possible when you step beyond the edges of the familiar, open yourself to the unknown, and allow yourself to be truly seen. In these moments you often discover what was waiting within you. A strength you had forgotten. A creativity you had set aside. A deeper meaning of who you are. And the extraordinary is fleeting, a glimpse of something luminous, here and then gone. Yet its passing is part of its gift. Even as the moment fades, its imprint stays. It reshapes your reality by changing how you perceive, widening what you can see, and offering you a new way of looking. These moments become markers along the way, drawing you toward a fuller awareness and a deeper understanding. They shape your choices. They inform your values. They colour the way you connect to life. The extraordinary becomes part of your story, a thread woven through the whole of your existence. The turning of awareness. Awareness deepens in cycles like a spiral. Each extraordinary moment moves in circular motion through awakening, integration, and change, and then begins again, each turn opening a new level of understanding, a closer connection to yourself and to the world. Growth comes in turns and returns, in insight and reflection, rather than a straight line drawn from here to there. And each turn carries you a little nearer to your true self. The extraordinary comes to awaken you to all that is possible, within you and around you. The power of perception. Perception is the lens through which you live your reality. It shapes what you believe, colours what you feel, and guides what you do. As awareness grows, you begin to see past your conditioned responses and your habitual patterns. You open to fresh possibility, to new perspective, to another way of being. The extraordinary invites you to widen that lens. To see the world as it is, and also as it could be. To question the assumptions you have carried, to soften the limits you have drawn, and to open toward the unknown. How the extraordinary returns you to yourself. So much of the time, we live inside limits of our own making. A smaller, closed version of who we are, shaped by routine, by old beliefs, by the narrow way we have come to see ourselves. The extraordinary breaks those limits open. It shows you that the world holds far more than you had seen, and, in the same breath, that you hold far more than you had allowed. In a moment of awareness of the extraordinary, the awe you feel, the wonder, the sense that such things can happen, widens your view of the world, and your view of yourself along with it. This is a gift of expansion within. You expand with more possibility beyond your self imposed limits. For you are more than how you have seen yourself. Larger, freer, more alive. And each time the extraordinary opens you, it hands you back to that fuller self, waiting beneath the limits. This is the return the extraordinary offers. A return to the whole of who you are. An invitation for a guided practice. Awakening your awareness. This is an invitation to bring your full awareness to this single moment. Find a space where you can be still and undisturbed. In this moment you have no where else to be and nothing else to do. Sit comfortably or lie down, and let your body settle into whatever holds it. Allow your eyes to close, or soften your gaze. Bring your attention to your breath. Feel the inhale arrive. Feel the exhale release. Allow your breath to slow down and deepen. Take a slow deep inhale through the nose, fill up your belly with air, feel your rib cage expand and pause before releasing with a slow long exhale through the mouth with a sigh out. Repeat this slow, deep breathing cycle, and as you do invite a little more relaxation to arrive with each exhale. Now widen your awareness to this moment, exactly as it is. The sounds around you, near and far. The air upon your skin. The weight of your body, held by your seat, the heaviness of your feet on the ground. Now open your eyes and allow your awareness to take in what is around you. Rest your attention on one small thing, and truly see it, as though for the first time. Notice its detail, its texture, its living presence. Let it become extraordinary under your gaze. Feel how awareness of the extraordinary lands in your body, what a sensation of awe and wonder feels like, how aliveness feels, how your perception changes and expands. Feel the expansion in your body and recognize it. This is awareness. It is waiting for you to arrive, and truly notice. And in the noticing, the ordinary turns luminous. When you rise, carry this new found awareness with you. The extraordinary is here, in this moment, waiting for you to see it. On reflection Your life is a unique expression of the extraordinary. It is a testament to the transforming power of awareness, and to the beauty of stepping into the unknown. So welcome the cycles of awakening and integration, the widening of your perception, and the wonder of your own unfolding. Each moment of awareness is an opening. A chance to awaken to the extraordinary within you, and to shape your reality with intention and purpose. This is the return to yourself.
