Page 94: The Private Eye Podcast

This is definitely become my favorite political podcast by someway. Outstanding journalism, well informed and mixed with humor make it a delight to listen to. I’m also struck by how much I learn about the legal system, journalism practices, etc., whilst listening.

Lives up to the Eye’s reputation for gleeful muckraking with tongue planted firmly in cheek. These guys are the happy-go-lucky Jack Russell terriers of investigative journalism, digging deeply and enthusiastically until they catch the prey they’re after—and the hauls they bring in are truly something to behold. I find a lot more substance here than I do in most American news outlets (although some of the stories are highly UK-specific, but that just lends a broader perspective). You’ll be better-informed and you’ll laugh a bit more too.

Incredibly interesting and has made me subscribe to the rag. Solid work from AHM and a wonderful insight to how it’s made and what they choose. Now reading the mag, it’s a brilliant companion and interesting to see the same old names popping up (Udi Sheleg in the latest issue)

Subscribe to this excellent podcast and then subscribe to the magazine. As the last episode said they like to “bang on” but that’s just a phrase to indicate dogged investigative journalism and there’s little enough of that around these days. A British institution, long may it continue.
