The goal of AI in automation is to enable intelligence and adapt existing processes by identifying scenarios where there might be a gap in the human process. Through this, AI can provide insights and implement changes to the process to assist human operators and allow them to focus on more advanced tasks. AI can also provide a positive impact to the shopfloor with the use of ChatGPT. As this model started learning manuals and it’s environment, it could provide operators with a quick and reliable way to get answers to problems they are facing.
There are a lot of current and emerging technologies that can be utilized in the manufacturing world and while AI will play a big role, it will be a small part in comparison to all the other technologies over the next few years.
