#274: Paul Barry | Unleash your core message to the world
After more than 20 years of teaching acting for film and TV around the world, Paul Barry finds this consistently to be proven true. In order to regularly and believably portray authentic and engaging human beings, actors must subvert their habitual impulses and dive into the unfamiliar and sometimes frightening territory of playing the opposite of what would seem to be 'intuitive'.
Having taught acting for film and TV for over 20 years to almost five thousand clients from around the world, including many recognisable actors working on screen in Australia, the UK and the US, Paul's time is now dedicated to his online acting training. Helps actors avoid the 'starving artist' fate by teaching online income generation skills to the next generation of artists via his coaching program, 'Dreaming for a Living'.
#273: The Power of Questions | How Asking the Right Thing Can Change Your Life
We've all been there. Small talk is easy, but it isn't always exciting or engaging. For example, you ask someone how their day was, and they respond with "fine" or "it was okay." But what if you changed the question?
Asking meaningful questions can be the difference between a surface-level conversation and a deep, meaningful exchange. For example, instead of asking someone how their day was, try asking them what the best thing they did today was. You might be surprised at the response you get.
This simple reframing can change the entire ball game when it comes to conversation. By asking more powerful questions, we can open ourselves up to learning more about the people around us and create truly meaningful connections.
Join Dale today for a short episode where he dives into the three worst default questions we all use and how simple reframing can change your life. Please let us know if you liked this short episode, as we can bring them back to mix up the interview-style episodes. Cheers Dale

#271: Kim Hamer | 100 Acts Of Love
On April 16, 2009, Kim Hamer watched her 44-yr-old husband take his last breath. During his illness and after his death, she was amazed by the helpful ways their coworkers, bosses, friends, and family supported them. Kim started calling their kind actions "acts of love".
After the death of her husband, Kim, an HR leader, noticed how little guidance leaders received when navigating cancer, health crisis, or death of a team member. She knew their lack of knowledge negatively affected morale, employee engagement, and productivity. She set out to change that. Combining her personal experience with her professional knowledge and leadership skills, Kim launched her business to support leaders and coworkers when cancer (or any health crisis) affects a team member.
