    Yana Dee, is the owner of Yana Dee Ethical Apparel. She's worked hard to occupy a unique niche in an otherwise crowded and noisy market. Yana and her small team produce clothing and accessories from organic, natural, and salvaged materials. In part one of our conversation, we discuss her upbringing in the northern wilds of Michigan's Upper Peninsula. We also talk about her education at Finlandia University in Hancock, Michigan, and about the journey that led her to open her clothing shop in traverse city.     Welcome to part 2 of our conversation with Pete Kirkwood.  Pete Kirkwood, like all good entrepreneurs, has been a lot of things. He's worked in intellectual property law, tourism, land conservation, the tech sector, the nonprofit world. He even started a disaster relief organization. But these days Pete's known as the owner of the Workshop Brewing Company. The Workshop's mini-manifesto starts with the following words: “We are in business to preserve Northern Michigan’s spectacular natural environment, to reinforce Traverse City’s warm and vital community, and to honor traditional craft. We do not consider our business to be a success unless we are demonstrably and sustainably doing all three.” In this episode, we chat about Pete’s business philosophy, trial, tribulations, and how his many experiences have helped make him the loud proud rural entrepreneur he is today.
