The Film Project

Stumbled across this podcast after it started and have listened to every episode. One of my favorite podcasts and I'm not biased because I am friends with one of the hosts and get mentioned on several episodes. Glad to see film and all art types given the recognition they deserve.

First, the episode entitled "Touching Patty Duke's Sons" completely misleads the listener about the content of episode. The episode is actually a boring, general discussion about the film business in Washington State. Although I skimmed through the episode I heard enough to determine that there was no mention of Patty Duke, who unfortunately died last year rather suddenly, or of her three sons(2 biological, 1 adopted). Although I was already peeved at being misled about the episode's content, I listened in hopes of finding an interesting discussion. Didn't happen. The hosts speak in an obviously unprepared, painful monotone which is compounded by their poor choice to mention their sponsors at the top of the show. Give people a few minutes to get interested. The hosts also burden their phoned-in guest with the responsibility of keeping the discussion interesting(avoiding obvious joke here). The guest clearly had no experience in public speaking -nothing she can be faulted for- but it exposed the inexperience of the hosts all the more. Pick up the pace guys, show some enthusiasm, and when your guest(s) start to hit some flat notes, pick them up, keep their talking points direct and well paced. Oh, and don't defraud your audience with misleading show titles.

I am new to this app and have been listening to many podcasts to see my favorite and this is the first on my list. This podcast is different from the others because each one is interesting and comedic at the same time. It never bored me and the subjects draw my attention. I give this podcast a 5star rating only because you can't give it a 7 star rating.

I love the enthusiasm and the knowledge behind every topic. The hosts were entertaining and this is my new favorite podcast!
