ABOUT THE GUESTS

Dr. Richard Ting earned his DDS from the USC in 1991 and practiced general dentistry for 8 years. He pursued post-graduate education in orthodontics at NYU earning his specialization in 2001. Dr. Ting practices in Southern California. He is among a select group of elite orthodontists in the nation skilled in the use of MARPE (Miniscrew-assisted Rapid Palatal Expansion) and is one of the most experienced in the world. As a specialist in structural, functional, and airway orthodontics, Dr. Ting focuses on improving jaw structure and function, while also addressing airway issues in children, teens, and adults. His methods aim to prevent long-term dependence on appliances and avoid the onset of an altered bite, moving beyond traditional orthodontic treatment that focuses on teeth alone. In addition, Dr. Ting has a deep understanding of TMJ disorders related to teeth grinding and clenching. He has successfully treated numerous patients who previously sought treatment elsewhere but had failed results with common orthodontic appliances and techniques.

Dr. Ilya Lipkin, DDS was born in Moscow and immigrated to the USA with his family in 1990. He earned a BA degree and DDS from NYU and then completed his residency in orthodontics in the college’s department of Post-Graduate Orthodontics. He went on to get additional training in the Roth-Williams philosophy which believes orthodontics should address all the structure of the chewing system, especially the jaw joints, which lacks in traditional orthodontic education today. Dr. Lipkin has developed groundbreaking methods for palatal expansion in adults. His approach is less invasive and more patient-friendly, aimed at improving both dental aesthetics and airway health. It’s not just about straightening teeth; it’s about breathing better, sleeping better, and ultimately living better.
