    Choice and Self-Worth

    Choice and Self-Worth

We’ve met today’s guest, Julie Allen, before when she shared her battle with eating disorders and learning to love and accept herself every day just as she is.  All about self-worth.  So it seems only natural that she is here this week to wrap up our month’s focus, by taking things a little further to discuss how our bigger choices are a reflection of our values and worth.

“A shoutout to everyone who is trying right now…trying to do the right thing, trying to stay open, trying to keep going, trying to hold on, trying to let go, trying to find their flow, trying to stay afloat, trying to meet each new day, trying to find their balance, trying to love themselves, trying new things and new ways…I see you.  I’m there too.  We’re in this together.” – S.C.Lourie

    What Is Your Worth?

    What Is Your Worth?

February is the month of love, most often romantic love.  This month we’re going to turn it into something a little different – a month of loving ourselves, our neighbours and communities and even loving our earth.  And it all starts with knowing our own worth and value.

    STOP Sharing Your Story

    STOP Sharing Your Story

We’ve become a culture of 30- to 60-second soundbites.  Of trying to get likes and followers and interaction.  This is not the time or place to share your story.  Please STOP.  Listen to find out why.
    Exchange Quotes:
“We all have a story.  The difference is, do you use the story to empower yourself?  Or do you use your story to keep yourself a victim?” – Sunny Dawn Johnston
“Our stories are not meant for everyone.  Hearing them is a privilege, and we should always ask ourselves this before we share: ‘Who has earned the right to hear my story?’” – Brene Brown

    When Positivity Isn't Positive

    When Positivity Isn't Positive

The past couple of years have been tough. And no matter how much we work on our mindset and try to stay positive, difficult things have happened.  However, if we feel that we always have to ‘look on the bright side’ that can actually do more damage to our mental health.
    Exchange Quotes:
“Life is amazing.  And then it’s awful.  And then it’s amazing again.  And in between the amazing and awful it’s ordinary and mundane and routine.  Breathe in the amazing, hold on through the awful and relax and exhale during the ordinary.  That’s just living heartbreaking, soul-healing, amazing, awful, ordinary life.  And it’s breathtaking beautiful.” – L.R. Knost
“Let’s not preach and let’s not fill pages with toxic positivity.  Instead, let us acknowledge the pain and troubles of life and existence.” – Vikas Pathak

I love listening to Kelly’s stories.

They are so relatable and simple, yet there are so many lessons and insights to gain from it. It makes you think about these moments in your own life.

I end up taking a good look at my own life and reflect.

And the 12-13 min lengths are so easy to consume.
