Yoga of Resilience Podcast

Vira Bhava Yoga

Presented by Vira Bhava Yoga, this podcast explores our understanding of Yoga and its relationship to Resilience. Through contemplation, conversation, wondering and experience, we explore Resilience as synonymous with the path and practice of Yoga. Our conversations unpack the points of crossover, the similarities of experience, and the ways that both practices support arriving whole and alive in the midst of hardship and challenge, taking down the bricks of protection and projection to be vulnerable and malleable, and opening to the possibility of being changed by the situations in which we find ourselves. Most of these conversations were recorded live with current Vira Bhava Yoga students.

    S4 | E 5 Community Connection following Disaster

In this the final episode of season 4, the Yoga of Resilience podcast reflects on Hurricane Helene. Our podcast is recorded in Western North Carolina, in the heart of the impacted areas of Helene, and many of our Vira Bhava Yoga graduates are located in the 6 state region that was hit the hardest by one of the largest geographical events in recent history. For this episode, I, Kelly, talked with 3 Vira Bhava Yoga teachers and WNC community members about their lived experiences, as well as ways they engaged with the community in the days and weeks directly after the storm and continue to move with the grief and connection now 3 months later. Please know that there are still thousands of people who are in direct need due to the impacts of Helene in the WNC area and beyond. If you feel compelled to help, you can check out organizations like Beloved Asheville, and check out Bounty and Soul. We will make sure to include links to these organizations in the show notes. Additionally, if you are in an impacted area outside of Asheville/Buncombe county and want to request support, please comment on this podcast episode with your organization's name and contact information so our listeners can reach out. 2024 has been an unforgettable year for so many, I hope that these stories help us all remember that amidst hardship, resilience is rising and taking form and shape. Please enjoy the episode, and stay tuned for more Yoga of Resilience in 2025. www.belovedasheville.com www.bountyandsoul.org
