She is currently an Assistant Professor of Art and Technology/Sound Practices at the School of the Art Institute of Chicago. We discuss the early days of her DIY touring, how her solo performance has changed over the years, her role in multiple bands, and how being in the audience of the moment is the key to improvisation.     Mac Pierce is an artist based in Chicago, IL. Mac critically engages with weaponized emerging technologies, making artworks that examine topics that may otherwise fall into the shadows. Using technology as a medium to create artworks, his practice communicates concepts about computer hacking, surveillance, and firearms using the grammar inherent to these systems. Mac received a BFA in Studio Art & Design from the University of Idaho and an MFA in Art & Technology Studies from the School of the Art Institute of Chicago.
