Episode 292 The Word That Changes Everything

In this episode of the Three Word Podcast, Lisa reflects on a simple but powerful mindset shift inspired by Seth Godin: replacing the word "but" with "and". That one small change can reshape how we view challenge, growth, and the tension of real life. Instead of using language that shuts us down, this episode explores how to choose and create space for both honesty and possibility. Lisa also shares a personal reflection from caring for her 95-year-old mom with vascular dementia, and how that experience has deepened her understanding that some seasons of life are both difficult and meaningful at the same time. This episode is a reminder that life is rarely either-or. Often, it is both. In this episode: Why the word but can keep us stuck How and opens the door to growth and perspective Why two things can be true at once A personal reflection on caregiving, love, and meaning How to shift your self-talk in hard seasons Key reminder: Life can be hard and rewarding. You can be tired and grateful. You can be stretched and still strong. Reflection question: Where in your life do you need to stop living in but and start living in and? Share this episode with someone who: Is walking through a hard season Needs encouragement without toxic positivity Is balancing challenge and gratitude Could use a small mindset shift that makes a big difference   Connect with Lisa: https://www.linkedin.com/in/lisathal/ http://threewordmeetings.com http://threewordpodcast     #mindset,#caregiving,#sethgodin,#personalgrowth,#vasculardementia,#resilience, #leadership, #gratitude

    Episode 291 It's Now Time!

The clocks move forward an hour — and whether you love the time change or not, it’s a powerful reminder: sometimes life asks you to move forward. In this episode, I use the time change as a mindset reset. Not a dramatic overhaul. Not an overnight transformation. A simple decision to take one step forward — because most of us don’t need more time… we need more courage with the time we already have. It’s now time to stop waiting for perfect. It’s now time to build momentum. It’s now time to move forward — one small step at a time. In This Episode, We Talk About: Why the time change is a symbol for forward movement The difference between waiting for motivation and creating momentum How “someday” quietly keeps us stuck A reframe: the clock doesn’t ask permission — it just moves The “one-hour” approach: small steps that compound into real progress This Week’s Challenge: Ask yourself: What’s one thing I’ve been delaying that I can move forward today? Not finish. Not master. Just take the next step — and put it on your calendar. Memorable Lines: “Most of us don’t need more time. We need more courage with the time we already have.” “Momentum comes before motivation.” “The clock doesn’t ask permission. It just moves.” “It’s now time to stop outsourcing your future to a later version of you.” Team Meeting Resource (Free Download) Use the printable one-pager to run a quick team meeting using It’s Now Time: Download: Three Word Meetings — It’s Now Time (Print PDF)   Connect with Lisa: https://www.linkedin.com/in/lisathal/ http://threewordmeetings.com http://threewordpodcast   #time change mindset, #move forward, #momentum, #motivation, #progress over perfection, #personal growth, #leadership mindset, #team meeting prompt, #Three Word Podcast, #Three Word Meetings, #it’s now time

    Episode 290- Do The Work

Episode 290 — Do The Work Episode summary “Do The Work” is a simple three-word roadmap for progress: the quiet, consistent actions that build results when no one is watching. In this episode, Lisa shares a moment of inspiration spotted in an airport on the way to a girls’ golf trip in Phoenix, and breaks down why unseen reps create self-trust, resilience, and real momentum. In this episode, you’ll hear Why progress is built in the unseen moments, not the highlight reel The difference between work that gets applause and work that gets results How consistency beats talent when pressure hits Why preparation becomes your identity, not just your routine What it means when you do the work and still fall short How failure becomes data you can use to refine and grow A simple question to identify the next step you already know you need to take Key takeaways The work isn’t only about the outcome — it’s about who you become while doing it. Every time you do the work, you build trust with yourself. Under pressure, you don’t rise to the occasion — you fall to the level of your preparation. Falling short doesn’t mean the work didn’t work. It means you’re in the process. Growth looks like repetition, refining, and showing up again. Memorable lines “Not the highlight-reel work. The quiet work.” “The unseen moments are where your future gets built.” “Self-trust is a superpower.” “Failure doesn’t cancel the work. It reveals the work that still needs to be done.” “You are not behind. You are being built.” “One day people will call it overnight success — and you’ll know the truth.” Reflection question (for you or your next team meeting) What’s the work I’ve been avoiding… that I already know I need to do? Then—no drama, no delay—Do. The. Work.   Know someone who’s doing the work quietly right now? Tag them or send this episode to them. Episode Complacency Kills Success

Episode 288, Complacency Kills Success Summary  Curt Cignetti’s three-word mindset—Complacency Kills Success—captures what it takes to win when you’ve never won before and sustain standards when everyone starts celebrating. In this episode, we break down how complacency sneaks in, how it quietly erodes performance, and how to protect your “edge” in sales, leadership, and life. The 3 Words Complacency. Kills. Success. Key topics covered: Complacency isn’t laziness—it’s what shows up after progress (“we’re good now”). “Kills” means it’s silent and gradual: standards slip one small decision at a time. Success is a system, not a moment—a repeatable set of habits you protect daily. The best performers act like they’re 0–0 and keep doing the basics with intensity. Bonus mindset cue: Cignetti’s “I win. Google me.” is a standard statement, not just a soundbite. Pick one area you’ve gotten comfortable and answer: Where am I coasting?  (Complacency) What standard is slipping?  (Kills) What would “winning” require again—daily?  ( Success)   If this hit you today, share it with someone who’s doing well—but needs to stay on that path. And if you’re building your own winning season, remember: your next level won’t be built by what you did once. It’ll be built by what you refuse to stop doing!     If you want, comment EDGE and I’ll send you a 1-page worksheet you can use for you or with your team.     Connect with Lisa: https://www.linkedin.com/in/lisathal/ http://threewordmeetings.com http://threewordpodcast

    Episode 287, Who I'm Becoming

Most people set goals by focusing on results. James Clear’s Atomic Habits offers a more powerful starting point: identity.  Who you want to become. This episode breaks down the three-part framework: Who you want to become How you become that person What you need to do each day to prove it Because habits are not just tasks. They become evidence. Every action is a vote for the type of person you are becoming. In this episode, we cover Why starting with “who” creates more consistency than starting with “what” The difference between outcome goals and identity-based habits How to ask a better daily question: “What would the person I want to become do today?” Why small actions matter more than big intentions How repeated habits build trust with yourself and reinforce your story Key takeaways Identity creates alignment, and alignment creates momentum You do not need perfection, you need repetition Small steps are powerful when they are consistent Habits matter because they are proof of your identity in real time Simple reflection exercise Finish these three sentences: Who do I want to become? What would that person do consistently? What is one small action I can take today to cast a vote for that identity? Three words to remember Vote. Build. Become. If this episode helped you, share it with a salesperson or leader who is building consistency and confidence one day at a time.   Until Next Time.   Connect with Lisa: https://www.linkedin.com/in/lisathal/ http://threewordmeetings.com http://threewordpodcast

Episode 286 Your calendar is a prediction of your success.

Your Outlook calendar is evidence, not opinions. In this episode, we use three words, Stop, Continue, Start, to turn last year’s calendar patterns into a simple roadmap for 2026. You’ll learn how to identify time leaks, protect what worked, and schedule one small action that creates your next level. Key Takeaways Your calendar tells the truth about priorities, energy, and results “Stop” removes the biggest time leak that isn’t producing progress “Continue” protects the behaviors and blocks that created momentum “Start” is one small lever, scheduled now, that supports your 2026 goals If it isn’t on the calendar, it’s often just intention The 30-Minute Calendar Review (Quick Guide) Open Outlook and scan Jan–Dec from last year Notice patterns in: revenue activities, follow-up, internal meetings, and energy Decide what to Stop, Continue, and Start Schedule your Start action immediately Reflection Prompts for you What repeated on my calendar that didn’t create real progress What activities showed up during my best weeks What do I want to be true by the end of 2026 that my calendar does not support yet What is one block I will protect starting next week Do this today Spend 10 minutes in Outlook Month view. Pick one Stop, one Continue, one Start. Then schedule your Start action on the calendar before you close your laptop.   If this episode helped, share it with someone on your team and do the Stop, Continue, Start review together. One honest calendar review can change the way a year feels. If you want, tell me your three: what are you stopping, continuing, and starting in 2026.   Until Next time.   Connect with Lisa: https://www.linkedin.com/in/lisathal/ http://threewordmeetings.com http://threewordpodcast

    Episode 285 Believe in Something

Episode 285 A morning run brings one word back to the surface: Believe. In this episode, I share why that word became more than inspiration in our home. It became a decision. Between my wife Olivia’s esophageal cancer journey and my mom’s Alzheimer’s dementia progression, belief stopped being an idea and started becoming a daily practice. I also share the moment I realized time was the real urgency, and why I chose to step away from a career I loved to build a life rhythm that made room for the people I love most. What you’ll hear in this episode Why “Believe” is not decor, it is a decision How uncertainty can test your mind and your heart The difference between hope and action The phrase that changed my year: “Believe it to see it” A simple practice to move forward when the roadmap is not clear Key message Belief is not pretending. Belief is choosing. Belief is action before proof. The “Believe” practice (takeaway) Name what you want in one sentence Name the fear underneath it Choose one proof step you can take in the next 24 hours Examples of proof steps: one email, one conversation, one appointment, one calendar decision, one first draft. Memorable lines (pull quotes) “That sign is not decor for us. It has been a decision.” “Belief became a crossroads.” “Sometimes the clarity comes after the courage.” “Time is not something you earn back later.” “Believe it to see it.” Reflection prompts for the listener Where are you waiting for certainty before you move What would you choose if regret was not an option What is one proof step you can take in the next 24 hours Suggested timestamps (edit after recording) 00:00 The run and the word “Believe” 01:00 Olivia’s diagnosis and the season of waiting 02:30 My mom’s decline and the reality of time 04:00 The crossroads and the decision to step away 05:15 The Believe practice you can use today Gentle disclaimer This episode is personal storytelling and mindset encouragement, not medical advice. Call to action If this episode connects with you, share it with someone who is carrying a heavy season. And if you try the Believe practice, send me the one proof step you chose.   Connect with Lisa: https://www.linkedin.com/in/lisathal/ http://threewordmeetings.com http://threewordpodcast
