On this episode, Jenna Fentimen (AWFC Board) & Alice Benton (Music Supervisor / Producer, SIREN) are joined by:  Emilie Levienaise-Farrouch, a classical pianist and film composer whose credits include: psychological horror Censor, The Strays, Andrew Haigh's BAFTA and Golden Globe-nominated All of Us Strangers), The Agency (Paramount+) and H Is For Hawk, directed by Philippa Lowthorpe.  Lucy Bright, a music supervisor and publisher working mainly in film and television, with recent work including Shane Meadows’s This is England ’90, The Virtues and The Gallows Pole, Charlotte Wells’s Aftersun and Todd Field’s Tár, The History of Sound starring Paul Mescal and Josh O’Connor. Her music publishing company Bright Notion Music represents a roster of treasured composers and artists.  Charlotte-Anne Myler, Partnerships & Engagement Manager at Universal Production Music and a lead member of UMPG’s Diversity & Inclusion Committee, working to make Music Publishing more accessible to underrepresented groups.     Welcome back! This week we have three very special guests:  Coda Nicolaeff - an artist, composer, and vocalist, whose work explores intersectional identity and collective solidarity. Coda is also a culture strategist driving change across major institutions. Ilā Kamalagharan, ILĀ is an artist, producer, and vocalist, whose practice integrates quantum and AI hybrid techniques. Ilā is also the co-founder and director of London Contemporary Voices. Coda and Ilā are co-founders of TRANS VOICES, the UK’s first professional trans choir.  Shelly Poole, an award winning composer and songwriter who has worked with talents as diverse as Janet Jackson to Massive Attack. Shelly has also composed and produced scores and bespoke music for major brands and for film TV including Sundance winner My Old School - By Jono Mcleod which saw Shelly Spotlighted as one of ASCAPs female composers of the year. Anna has performed with Roxy Music, Trans-Siberian Orchestra, and Nitin Sawhney, and scored Apple TV’s ‘The Buccaneers’ alongside her co-composer, Aisling Brouwer.Jenny Plant, an award-winning singer songwriter, composer and multi-instrumentalist and session musician, Jenny is also one half of electronic duo Lotide, and a member of Mamas in Music, who bring together Mums and care-givers in the industry.Together they discuss how they’ve defined themselves throughout their careers including: collaboration as key to musical creativity, the importance of just saying ‘yes’, parenthood as a career enricher, and why we should be teaching children to value the very human process of writing, producing, and releasing music.
