    Episode 60: Childish Ambition, Childlike Faith, and a Fish

    The disciples have seen Jesus do the impossible. They have seen Him heal and heard Him preach. They have seen Him exhibit mastery over the chaos waters, proving that He is the Son of God. They've heard Peter declare that He is the Messiah, and those on the Mount of Transfiguration even got to witness a glimpse of His glory. And yet, as Jesus begins to tell them what lies ahead, His suffering, death, and resurrection, they still struggle to see these events from a Kingdom perspective. This week, we follow Jesus and the disciples as He predicts His death, Peter finds a coin in the most unlikely place, and an argument breaks out over a very worldly question: Who is the greatest? Jesus' response turns their idea of greatness upside down. With a child in their midst, He shows them the difference between being childish and childlike and reminds them that things look very different when we stop viewing life through a worldly lens and begin seeing it from God's perspective. Join us as we talk about ambition, humility, perspective, and yes... a fish.

    Episode 59: The Mountain & The Valley

    In this episode, we journey from the mountain of Transfiguration to the valley below. Peter, James, and John witness Jesus in His glory—His appearance transformed before them as Moses and Elijah stand beside Him. We unpack why these two men matter, how Moses represents the Law and Elijah the Prophets, and what this incredible moment reveals about who Jesus truly is. But they couldn’t stay on the mountain. Waiting in the valley was a desperate father, a hurting son, and a situation the disciples couldn’t fix. We talk about Jesus’ teaching on prayer and one of the most relatable prayers in Scripture: “I believe; help my unbelief.” Because faith isn’t only about what happens on the mountaintop. It’s also about trusting Jesus when we come back down into the valley.

    This week’s episode highlights one pivotal question that Jesus asked His disciples, “Who do you say that I am?” As we walk through moments of confusion, bold faith, and honest doubts – from the misunderstanding of Jesus’ declaration that He is the Bread of Life, to Peter’s bold pronouncement that Jesus is the Son of God – we discuss these stories and more, and ultimately, ask ourselves how do we answer that question today?

    Episode 56: John the Baptist: Fear of God over Fear of Man

    John the Baptist came to prepare the way for the Messiah. His entire life highlights a question we should all ask ourselves as believers, “Who do you fear, God or man?” John’s life is a testament of following God’s will despite what man may think. He leapt for joy in the womb at the presence of the Savior. He baptized Jesus. He was filled with the Holy Spirit and proclaimed Truth boldly, even when it was dangerous to do so. Yet, through all of these incredible experiences, John still experienced doubt while facing tremendously difficult earthly circumstances. John did not remain ensnared by his doubts. He did what we should all do with our doubts. He brought them to Jesus. Jesus met John where he was in that moment, as He does with all of us. He let John know that the Messiah had come, prophecy was being fulfilled, John’s life’s work had been accomplished, yet his earthly circumstances would not change. John’s story presents a hard truth for all Christ followers. Following God’s will for our lives will not spare us from pain on this side of eternity, but He will never leave us no matter what we may face.
