How did the bike industry get into deep trouble?

I worked in purchasing at one of the company’s mentioned many times in these episodes. Throughout summer 2020 I heard company leadership repeatedly say this was the new normal in the bike industry. I even heard the term “bicycle renaissance” thrown around. The directive was that purchasing needed to order everything they could. It didn’t matter what it was, but it. Those of us who spoke up saying this wasn’t going to last were shut down. I quit at the end of 2020 because I thought the inventory issues were going to come to a head in 2021. I was a year early.

Mostly blather

I’ve never heard so much blather with so few insights in a single podcast. Wow.
