The Walt Disney Company has created some of the greatest, most acclaimed works of art in the history of cinema, and also unfathomable amounts of absolute garbage. And the Disney+ streaming service is loaded with both! Join YouTube personality Tony Goldmark, aka Some Jerk With A Camera, and a rotating series of guests as each week they pick a Disney+ title completely at random, dissect it for your amusement, and determine it to be "Disney Plus" or "Disney Minus." It's ESCAPE FROM VAULT DISNEY!

The Fox and the Hound
It continues to be WHAT WOULD WALT HAVE DONE? MONTH on Escape From Vault Disney! And for our third belated episode of What Would Walt Have Done? Month, the randomizer goes all the way back to 1981 to pick an animated would-be classic that seemed to have everything going for it: a beautiful nature setting in the Bambi mold, a timeless parabolic story about the irrationality of bigotry, and a once-in-a-lifetime animation crew loaded with literally dozens of future directors. How could they possibly screw that up? Welp, dull dialogue, a meandering story, muddled character motivations, instantly forgettable songs, an inept fumbling of the anti-bigotry message, a side character who should've died inexplicably living, a pointless B-plot where two birds and a caterpillar do third-rate Tom & Jerry shtick, and what the hell, why not throw in some incompetent studio mismanagement that drove about a dozen animators to resign and form their own studio while we're at it, that's how. Meh, at least the furries got something out of it. Join Tony Goldmark, Dave Cobb, Charley Marlowe and Jacob Martin as they try to schedule a disastrous playdate for THE FOX AND THE HOUND!

Treasure of Matecumbe
It's still WHAT WOULD WALT HAVE DONE? MONTH on Escape From Vault Disney! And for our second episode of What Would Walt Have Done? Month, the randomizer goes all the way back to 1976 to pick an ambitious misfire released just in time for America's bicentennial, a would-be epic treasure hunt adventure set in the Reconstruction-era American South that aims to be Budget Mark Twain by way of Budget Robert Louis Stevenson, depicting America as a chaotic lawless hellscape where former slaves run back to their plantations, snake oil medicine can be refashioned into Molotov cocktails, impromptu hoedowns turn into attempted gangbangs at the drop of a hat and we're supposed to take the big evil frightening villain seriously even though his name is "Spangler." Also the guy who voiced Prince John is in it but he doesn't suck his thumb even once. Join Tony Goldmark, Ryan Hipp, Madeline Maye and Chris Nebergall as they fruitlessly hunt for the TREASURE OF MATECUMBE!

A Tale of Two Critters (with Meet the Robinsons director Stephen Anderson!)
It's WHAT WOULD WALT HAVE DONE? MONTH on Escape From Vault Disney, as we devote March 2024 to movies, featurettes and/or TV specials produced by Walt Disney Productions during that odd, awkward inbetween time from 1968-1984, after Walt died but before Eisner took over! And for our first episode of What Would Walt Have Done? Month, we're joined by the man who literally wrote the soon-to-be-released book on that era, Meet the Robinsons director Stephen Anderson! And for our topic, the randomizer goes all the way back to 1977, the summer when Star Wars had the unmitigated audacity to dominate the box office 35 years before Disney owned it. The only competition Disney had that summer was a Herbie sequel and an animated talking mice movie, so the Disney execs thought "Hey, y'know what Walt would've done? He would've paired the animated talking mice movie with 48 minutes of documentary-style footage of a bear and a raccoon in the woods just kinda wandering around, narrated by an obscure country singer who, for thoroughly unclear reasons, is named 'Mayf Nutter.' That'll steer audiences away from Luke Skywalker blowing up the Death Star for sure!" Are you starting to understand why Disney struggled in the 70s? Join Tony Goldmark, Stephen Anderson, David Ganssle and Luke Ski as they chase A TALE OF TWO CRITTERS!

World's Deadliest S3E1 - War of the Carnivores
This week, the randomizer goes all the way back to 2019 to pick yet another NatGeo special! And since it's become abundantly clear that every NatGeo special is exactly the same, I'm gonna devote the rest of this description to talking about the life of actor/comedian Chris Elliott. Born in 1960 in New York City as the fifth and youngest child of Bob Elliott of Bob & Ray fame, Mr. Elliott was hired as a production assistant on Late Night with David Letterman and soon began playing various wacky characters on-camera. This led to supporting roles in such films as Manhunter, The Abyss, Groundhog Day and There's Something About Mary, as well as starring roles in his own FOX primetime sitcom Get A Life and the feature film vehicle Cabin Boy. More recently, in the 2010s he had his own Adult Swim series Eagleheart, and a regular supporting role on Schitt's Creek. Chris Elliott's surreal, offbeat style of humor has been a comedy staple for over forty years and counting, and he continues to be an always-welcome character actor to this day. Join Tony Goldmark, Morgan Funder, Brianna Garcia and Kit Leitmeyer as they challenge the authority of the WORLD'S DEADLIEST, season three, episode one, "War of the Carnivores!"

A two-and-a-half-hour supercut of all sixteen "What Else Is Not On Disney+?" minisodes, featuring more-or-less the entire conversation Tony Goldmark had with David Ganssle in the spring of 2023 in which they went through the entire Not On Disney+ Month shortlist and said a few words about each item.

Tim Burton's The Nightmare Before Christmas
This week we're bypassing the randomizer for yet another Guest's Choice episode, which in this case doubles as a belated Christmas episode AND triples as an even-more-belated Halloween episode! Our good friend and newly-sentient amorphous blob of characters Garrett Smith "makes" us watch one of the most groundbreaking animated features of all time, a 1993 stop-motion animated borderline-experimental quasi-operatic tone poem of a film about the shenanigans that ensue when the bored leader of an annual tradition finds a buncha magic trees containing the other annual traditions and decides to colonize one of them, filled with gorgeous sumptuous visuals, haunting musical numbers and some guy's name in the title who didn't direct it and only visited the set maybe ten times. Join Tony Goldmark, Rob Bergman, Garrett Smith and Gaby Tyrrell as they wake up screaming from TIM BURTON'S THE NIGHTMARE BEFORE CHRISTMAS!

Customer Reviews
Great monthly podcast
I like the show a lot, the guests are always funny, they elevate some of the lackluster things they review, and the editing is always sharp. Worth the wait.
More Goldmark = More Better
Takes the insane and mundane yet somehow makes it interesting 🤩🤩🤩
What’s the Podcast!
This is a funny, informative, and filled with so many tangents of a podcast.
Tony and his guests work so well off each other though I will note the episodes where someone is doing a character those personally kind of rub me the wrong way as the gimmick becomes old fast, with the exception of Agatha Vile. However, those episodes are few and far between.
