Such a great podcast. They intellectually and respectfully discuss so many different issues. The paradox of Christians and today’s Republican Party are something I can’t wrap my brain around, and to find another group of people who feel the same way feels like a soft landing spot

This podcast is such a breath of fresh air! After becoming so disillusioned with how American evangelicals were rallying behind Trump (who is completely the opposite of every Jesus taught- let’s be honest), I felt completely alone in my questions of how this could have happened. I love these hosts and I so appreciate their vulnerability, their ability to find humor in hard things without minimizing pain, and their candidness about what is taught in evangelical churches. I found a place where asking questions in good faith is not just accepted, but celebrated. Life’s a journey, and it’s so nice to be on the ride with this community!

I have been listening to Evangelicalish for a few years now. My deconstruction journey started at a similar time and I find so much encouragement from all of the hosts. Thank you for great content always!

I was raised as a conservative evangelical Christian (fundamentalist) and attended an IFCA church growing up. I was all-in - passing tracts out at malls, witnessing, attending a Christian school and being a leader in both my church and my school. I attended Bible School and was planning to be a missionary or pastor. I stopped attending church in my early 20s and began a life long process of deconstruction (although at that time - mid 1980s - the word deconstruction was never used). Now almost 60, I’m only now realizing that conservative evangelical Christianity as practiced in and exported from the USA is really not Christianity at all. Christianity has been made into an ideology that is more about cultural and ethnic privilege and power than it is about following Jesus. This excellent podcast speaks to the wonder and beauty and and mystery of life without trying to “ideologize” faith, hope, and love. One of many exvangelical podcasts I listen to but one of the few that I never miss.
