It was called the House of the Lord, because there was no known concept on the earth of what a temple was, and how it would bless the lives of the saints. Announced: 1832 - the Lord Construction commenced: June 1833 Dedicated: March 1836 by Joseph Smith Size - 15,000 sq feet
