how to be human in the age of AI

this episode was inspired by a conversation with my friend kat. two filipinas at a filipino café in washington, dc asking ourselves one question: how do we become more human this year? technology has made almost everything instantly accessible. we can order food from restaurants we’ve never stepped inside, tour million-dollar homes we’ll never visit, and watch someone climb mount everest without ever leaving our beds. but are we mistaking access for experience? in this episode, we talk about why gen z feels increasingly disconnected despite being more connected than ever, what i’m learning from the extinction of experience by christine rosen, and the small practices i’m embracing to feel more alive again. we discuss: * why silence is becoming a superpower * listening to an entire album instead of skipping songs * walking simply for the sake of walking * cooking as an act of love and community * why i’m texting less and seeing people more * taking handwritten notes at columbia instead of relying on my ipad * the surprising joy of saying hi to strangers because maybe the richest parts of life were never meant to be consumed—they were meant to be lived. what’s one thing you do that makes you feel undeniably human? #everydayreform #genz #beinghuman #christinerosen #digitalminimalism #mindfulness #selfgrowth #personaldevelopment #humanconnection #conversation #technology #socialmedia #attention #mentalhealth #nyc #columbia #slowliving #podcast #authenticity #community This is a public episode. how to build GENUINE confidence (in who you are & who you’re becoming)

confidence isn’t something you wake up with. it’s something you build. in this episode of everyday reform, we’re talking about the kind of confidence that doesn’t disappear the moment someone criticizes you, unfollows you, rejects you, or misunderstands you. we cover:• why everything you’ve been searching for is already within you• how to stop relying on external validation and start validating yourself• why being misunderstood is an inevitable part of living authentically• how posting imperfect content helped me become more confident• why confidence isn’t a feeling—it’s evidence built through action• practical journal prompts to strengthen self-trust• how to stop asking everyone else for permission to live your life• why real confidence stays humble, even as success grows one of the hardest lessons i’ve learned is that no one else will ever fully experience your life the way you do. if your confidence depends on being perfectly understood, you’ll spend your entire life chasing something impossible. the goal isn’t to convince everyone you’re worthy. it’s to know that you are. if you’ve been struggling with self-confidence, self-worth, overthinking, people-pleasing, imposter syndrome, comparison, fear of judgment, or finding the courage to become the person you know you’re capable of becoming, this episode is for you #confidence #selfconfidence #selfworth #selflove #personalgrowth #mindset #healing #mentalhealth #selfimprovement #authenticity #selftrust #peoplepleasing #growthmindset #journaling #podcast #genz #everydayreform This is a public episode. how to stand up for yourself (in work + life + love)

for years, i believed being “nice” meant being endlessly accommodating. saying yes when i wanted to say no. avoiding difficult conversations. staying silent when someone crossed a boundary. but here’s what i’ve learned: clarity is kindness. confusion is cruelty. whether it’s an unpaid work opportunity, a friend who consistently shows up late, a boss pushing past agreed-upon boundaries, or someone you’re dating ignoring your needs, clear communication is one of the most important skills you’ll ever learn. in this episode of everyday reform, we’re talking about: ✨ why clarity is the kindest thing you can give someone✨ how to communicate honestly without overexplaining yourself✨ why waiting to address problems only builds resentment✨ how to set boundaries at work and advocate for yourself professionally✨ scripts for difficult conversations with friends, partners, and coworkers✨ why young women are often conditioned to prioritize being accommodating over being honest✨ how healthy communication strengthens relationships instead of harming them✨ why communication is the catalyst for personal and social change you do not have to say yes to everything. you do not owe everyone unlimited access to your time, energy, or labor. the relief you feel when someone cancels plans you didn’t want to attend? what if you gave yourself that relief first? because boundaries aren’t selfish. they’re an act of self-respect. 🎙️ listen now and start having the conversations that change your life. #peoplepleaser #peoplepleasing #boundaries #settingboundaries #communicationskills #healthyrelationships #selfgrowth #selfdevelopment #womenempowerment #personalgrowth #relationshipadvice #careeradvice #confidence #assertiveness #mentalhealth #emotionalintelligence #podcast #genzwomen #healingjourney #selfworth #everydayreform This is a public episode. when did love become so punitive?

welcome to everyday reform, for the love of change. love nowadays is all too punitive for my liking. we live in a culture obsessed with cutting people off. don’t double text. if they don’t text back in three days, block them. one mistake and suddenly someone is permanently disqualified. but what happens when we begin treating relationships like courtrooms instead of places for growth? as a criminal justice reform advocate, i’ve spent years working alongside incarcerated and formerly incarcerated people and witnessing profound transformation in real time. it’s made me wonder: if i believe people are more than the worst thing they’ve ever done, why would love be any different? in this episode, we explore: * why modern dating culture feels increasingly punitive * the rise of “cut-off culture” and endless optionality * the difference between boundaries and punishment * why people are not red flags, checklists, or compatibility scores * what criminal justice reform taught me about second chances because the question isn’t whether people we love will fail us. they will. the question is whether we allow those failures to define them forever. #everydayreform #podcast #datingpodcast #modernlove #relationships #datingadvice #selfgrowth #personaldevelopment #secondchances #love #healing #genz #mentalhealth #criminaljusticereform This is a public episode. how to become a better conversationalist 101: the art of asking

welcome to everyday reform — for the love of change. 🎙️ this week, we’re talking about how to become a better conversationalist and why the quality of our lives is often dictated by the quality of our questions. my love language is curiosity. some of the most meaningful moments of my life — from a conversation with a formerly incarcerated woman at 13 that changed my entire trajectory, to the friendships and opportunities i’ve built since — began with a single question. but asking well is an art. in this episode, we explore:✨ why conversationalists win in life, love, and work✨ how to ask better, deeper questions✨ common conversation mistakes (yes, including “what about you?”)✨ the socratic method and the power of sitting in uncertainty✨ what we get wrong about being a “good listener”✨ why asking for help, space, or what you want takes courage whether you’re preparing for a first date, job interview, difficult conversation, or simply want deeper relationships, this episode is your guide to mastering the art of asking. because change begins with conversation. listen now and let me know: what’s the best question someone has ever asked you? #everydayreform #podcast #conversationalist #deepconversations #communicationskills #conversationstarters #selfdevelopment #personalgrowth #relationshipadvice #socialskills #curiosity #meaningfulconversations #emotionalintelligence #howtoaskbetterquestions #podcastrecommendations #genzpodcast #selfimprovement #storytelling #personaldevelopment #mentalhealthpodcast This is a public episode.
