    Broken Arrow (1996)

This week on the Everything Actioncast, Zach and Chris deal with a Broken Arrow situation and discuss John Woo's 1996 action classic for its 30th anniversary. Christian Slater and John Travolta star as Riley Hale and Vic "Deak" Deakins, who co-pilot the stealth bomber.  On an exercise where they are transporting live B83 nuclear bombs, Deak turns traitor and tries to kill Riley, ultimately ejecting him from the plane.  Deak has had an elaborate plan in place to steal the nukes and ransom them back to the US government, or else he'll detonate a bomb in a city.  Riley teams up with park ranger Terry Carmichael (Samantha Mathis) to stop Deak and recover the nukes.  Zach and Chris discuss the ridiculous opening boxing match between Riley and Deak, Riley and Terry never introducing themselves to each other until the final scene, the arrow-like design of the nuclear bomb core, the big acting debut for Howie Long, and more. You can watch Broken Arrow on Prime Video.  Next week, we're catching a ride with The Hitcher and discussing the horror/thriller cult classic for its 40th anniversary. 2. F/X (1986)

    F/X (1986)

This week on the Everything Actioncast, Zach and Chris use some movie magic and discuss the 1986 action thriller F/X, which came out 40 years ago this week. Bryan Brown stars as Rollie Tyler, a movie special effects artist who is recruited by the Department of Justice to help fake the murder of a mafia informant in witness protection.  Rollie pulls off the job, but the DoJ tries to kill him, and they murder his girlfriend, Ellen (Diane Venora).  NYPD detective Leo McCarthy (Brian Dennehy) investigates Ellen's death and starts to figure out that there might be some corrupt government agents behind everything.  Zach and Chris discuss how it's a bit odd for the movie to take place in New York City and not Los Angeles, the clunky nature of 80s special effects technology, Rollie getting a bunch of innocent people killed, using special effects as weapons in the finale, and more. You can watch F/X on Tubi and Pluto TV.  Next week, we've got a Broken Arrow as we discuss John Woo's 90s classic for its 30th anniversary. We want to hear your comments and feedback.  Send them all to contact@everythingaction.com.  Also, let us know your movie suggestions for us to discuss. The Mechanic (2011)

This week on the Everything Actioncast, Zach and Chris make things look like an accident and discuss 2011's The Mechanic, which came out 15 years ago this week, and just as a new Statham movie, Shelter, hits theaters. A remake of the 1972 Charles Bronson film, Jason Statham stars as Arthur Bishop, a "Mechanic" who is contracted to pull off elaborate assassinations, most of which are designed to look like accidental deaths.  Forced to kill his mentor, Harry McKenna (Donald Sutherland), Arthur takes Harry's angry son, Steven (Ben Foster), under his wing and trains him in the art of assassination.  Zach and Chris discuss differences between this version and the Bronson version, Ben Foster's belief that he can take on a massive Arena football player in hand-to-hand combat, how this feels more like a Hitman video game adaptation than the actual Hitman movies, David Leitch vs. Statham, and more. You can watch The Mechanic on Paramount+, Philo, or MGM+.  Next week, we're learning the deadly art of illusion and discussing 1986's F/X, which is turning 40. We want to hear your comments and feedback.  Send them all to contact@everythingaction.com.  Also, let us know your movie suggestions for us to discuss. Everything Action Commentary: Primal Rage (1988)

With 28 Years Later: The Bone Temple coming out this month, Zach and Chris checked out another movie that features a "rage virus", 1988's Primal Rage, for the first Everything Action Commentary of 2026. A joint Italian-American production, Primal Rage stars Patrick Lowe as Sam Nash, a Florida International University student and reporter/photographer for the school paper, alongside his friend Frank Duffy (Mitch Watson).  While investigating Dr. Ethridge's (Bo Svenson) lab, Duffy is bitten by a baboon that Ethridge was experimenting on, and slowly turns into a rage-fueled zombie.  Spreading the virus to his date, Debbie (Sarah Buxton), Sam and his girlfriend, Lauren (Cheryl Arutt), have to track them down and work with Dr. Ethridge to find a cure before the school's Halloween Bash becomes a massacre.  While watching the movie, Zach and Chris discuss the 80s sitcom-style opening, the insane trio of school bullies, the elaborate Halloween costumes, the crazy soundtrack, and more. You can watch Primal Rage on Tubi, Philo, The Roku Channel, and more.  You can also watch the version below from YouTube and sync it up with our commentary to watch along. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=JLCN2AHxnnA We want to hear your comments and feedback.  Send them all to contact@everythingaction.com.  Also, let us know your suggestions for movies for us to discuss. Silent Hill (2006)

This week on the Everything Actioncast, Zach and Chris head to the fog-covered streets of 2006's Silent Hill as Return to Silent Hill is out in theaters. Directed by Christophe Gans, Silent Hill mostly tries to adapt the first game in the long-running video game series, but pulls in elements and creatures from other installments.  Radha Mitchell stars as Rose Da Silva, whose adopted daughter, Sharon (Jodelle Ferland), is sleepwalking and experiencing visions of Silent Hill.  Discovering it's a ghost town in West Virginia, Rose attempts to take Sharon there, but an accident with a motorcycle cop, Cybil Bennett (Laurie Holden), results in Sharon going missing and Rose forced to explore the creepy, fog-enshrouded streets of Silent Hill, facing dangerous creatures, including the game's iconic baddie Pyramid Head (Roberto Campanella).  Meanwhile, Rose's husband, Chris (Sean Bean), attempts to find out where Rose and Sharon went and digs into Sharon's past.  Zach and Chris discuss the Geocities-style website that leads Rose to Silent Hill, Cybil immediately leaping to the conclusion that Rose kidnapped Sharon, the fantastic creature design and atmosphere, try to figure out what the hell Silent Hill: Ascension was, and more. You can watch Silent Hill on AMC+/Shudder.  Next week, we're discussing the 2011 Jason Statham movie The Mechanic, which is celebrating its 15th anniversary, and a new Statham movie, Shelter, is hitting theaters. Edge of Tomorrow (2014)

This week on the Everything Actioncast, Zach and Chris get caught in a time loop and discuss 2014's Edge of Tomorrow, as the anime adaptation of All You Need is Kill is now out in theaters. Tom Cruise stars as Major William Cage, a military PR officer who is the talking head for the battle against the "Mimics", a hostile alien race that has invaded Earth and destroyed most of Europe.  As humanity's big counteroffensive is set to commence, Cage is ordered to cover the frontlines but refuses to engage in actual combat.  After trying to blackmail his superior officer, he's arrested, demoted to private, and sent to join the misfits of J-Squad.  Piloting an exo-suit, Cage is forced into battle where he encounters an "Alpha" mimic whose blood enters his body before he dies.  Cage awakens back at the military base and learns he's now in a time loop, with the day resetting every time he dies.  Zach and Chris discuss why the Mimics would risk their super-powerful Alphas in battle at all, how certain groups of loops are used for mini-missions, the fantastic dark humor, Emily Blunt's badass melee combat, and more. You can rent or buy Edge of Tomorrow on platforms like Fandango at Home, Apple TV, and Prime Video.  Next week, we're heading back to Silent Hill as Return to Silent Hill hits theaters. Warlock (1989)

This week on the Everything Actioncast, Zach and Chris perform an incantation and discuss the cult classic Warlock, which is celebrating the 35th anniversary of its domestic theatrical release this weekend. Basically a horror/supernatural The Terminator, the late Julian Sands stars as The Warlock, who escapes imprisonment in 1691 Boston and ends up in 1991 Los Angeles.  Tasked by Satan himself to find the scattered parts of The Grand Grimoire, The Warlock seeks to undo creation.  Following The Warlock to the future is witch-hunter Giles Redferne (Richard E. Grant), who teams up with waitress Kassandra (Lori Singer) to stop The Warlock.  Zach and Chris discuss how little culture shock both Redferne and The Warlock have in the future, using young boy fat to fly, a weathervane being the most effective weapon against The Warlock, the terrible special effects, and more. You can watch Warlock on Prime Video and Tubi.  Next week, we're getting caught in a time loop and discussing Edge of Tomorrow because an anime adaptation of All You Need is Kill is hitting theaters.
