    Masters of the Universe (1987)

This week on the Everything Actioncast, Zach and Chris head to Eternia and discuss Cannon's take on Masters of the Universe as the new movie featuring He-Man and the gang hits theaters. Dolph Lundgren stars as He-Man, who battles with Man-At-Arms (Jon Cypher) and Teela (Chelsea Field) to free their homeworld of Eternia from the grip of Skeletor (Frank Langella) and his minions.  Coming across a Thenurian inventor named Gwildor (Billy Barty), he shows the group his Cosmic Key, which lets them teleport anywhere in the galaxy.  Forced to flee Skeletor's forces, He-Man and his crew end up on Earth, and two high schoolers, Julie (Courtney Cox) and Kevin (Robert Duncan McNeill), get drawn into the fight.  Zach and Chris discuss how Gwildor takes over the movie, the movie's original weirdo villains, Cannon's sinking finances, and the waning popularity of MotU, the last-minute addition of time travel, and more. You can watch Masters of the Universe on Prime Video.  Next week, we're discussing Super 8, which is turning 15, and as the movie's producer, Steven Spielberg, has a new alien movie hitting theaters, Disclosure Day. Ghost Rider: Spirit of Vengeance (2011)

This week on the Everything Actioncast, Zach and Chris ride with Johnny Blaze and discuss Ghost Rider: Spirit of Vengeance, as Nicolas Cage returns as a live-action superhero in Prime Video's Spider-Noir. The follow-up to 2007's Ghost Rider and the second (and final) movie under the Marvel Knights banner, Cage returns as Johnny Blaze, cursed with the demonic Ghost Rider inside of him.  He's hiding out in Eastern Europe but gets pulled into a mission to save a young boy, Danny (Fergus Riordan), from Roarke (Ciaran Hinds), aka Mephisto, the demon lord who made the deal that cursed Johnny.  Along with Roarke, Johnny is up against Carrigan (Johnny Whitworth), a mercenary who is transformed into the supernatural Blackout and can cause things to decay with his touch.  Zach and Chris discuss the over-the-top Nicolas Cage performance, the massive hell-powered excavator, Idris Elba's wacky French accent, the movie's many awkward moments (like the Penance Stare), and more. You can rent/buy Ghost Rider: Spirit of Vengeance on Prime Video and Apple TV.  Next week, we head to Eternia to discuss the original Masters of the Universe movie as the new movie from Travis Knight hits theaters. Everything Action Commentary: Hitman: Agent 47 (2015)

For the latest Everything Action Commentary, Chris is joined by special guest Addam to watch the 2015 video game adaptation, Hitman: Agent 47, as Hitman developer IO Interactive launches its new game, 007 First Light. In the second attempt to bring Agent 47 to the big screen, Rupert Friend takes over from Timothy Olyphant as 47, the genetically enhanced assassin.  In a twist on Terminator 2, 47 is initially set up as the villain, with John Smith (Zachary Quinto) rescuing a girl named Katia (Hannah Ware), whose father Litvenko (Ciarán Hinds) created the Agent program that birthed 47.  Smith is actually an evil, even more enhanced super soldier, and the two battle it out.  While watching the movie, Chris and Addam discuss how John Smith immediately reveals he knows everything about Katia's father, the unrealistic helicopter physics, the extremely rushed explanation of how Agents are made, and more. You can watch Hitman: Agent 47 on Hulu or rent/buy it on Prime Video, Apple TV, and Fandango, and sync the movie with the commentary track to watch along. You can check out Addam on YouTube at https://www.youtube.com/@theadman2315 and on Instagram at https://www.instagram.com/theadmantravel/ We want to hear your comments and feedback.  Send them all to contact@everythingaction.com.  Also, let us know your movie suggestions for us to discuss. ٢٢ مايو ·  فيديو

    Speed Racer (2008)

This week on the Everything Actioncast, Zach and Chris hit the track to discuss 2008's Speed Racer, which just arrived on 4K. Based on the classic anime series and directed by The Wachowskis, Emile Hirsch stars as Speed Racer, who races for his family's Racer Motors.  Tempted to become sponsored by Royalton Industries, Speed's refusal causes Royalton CEO E.P. Arnold Royalton (Roger Allam) to sinisterly reveal the truth that all of the biggest races are fixed, and it's all just a conspiracy to manipulate corporate stock prices.  Determined to prove Royalton wrong and take down the criminal activity, Speed teams up with Inspector Detector (Benno Fürmann) and the mysterious Racer X (Matthew Fox).  Zach and Chris discuss the movie's hyper-vibrant visual style, the nonexistent physics in the racing, ninja fights, the overly complicated corporate plot, and more. You can grab the new 4K of Speed Racer or rent it on Prime Video or Apple TV.  Next week, with Nicolas Cage back as a live-action superhero in Spider-Noir, we're revisiting his prior turn as Johnny Blaze in Ghost Rider: Spirit of Vengeance. Top Gun (1986)

This week on the Everything Actioncast, Zach and Chris head into the Danger Zone and discuss the 1986 classic Top Gun as it celebrates its 40th anniversary. Tom Cruise stars as Pete "Maverick" Mitchell, who, along with his best friend and Radar Intercept Officer (RIO) Nick "Goose" Bradshaw (Anthony Edwards), is given the opportunity to attend Top Gun, aka Naval Fighter Weapons School, with the best pilots in the Navy.  His reckless flying style puts him into conflict with Tom "Iceman" Kazansky (Val Kilmer), the best pilot in the class, and he also pursues Top Gun's civilian instructor, Charlotte "Charlie" Blackwood (Kelly McGillis).  Zach and Chris discuss how weirdly sweaty everyone is for the entire movie, Iceman needing to take some of the blame for Goose's death, a potential prequel involving Maverick's father, Kenny Loggins' dominance of 80s movie soundtracks, who the US is actually in conflict with in the final battle sequence, and more. You can watch Top Gun on Paramount+ or Pluto TV (and if you see this before the 21st, you can probably head out to a theater near you to see it there).  Next week, we're performing some car fu and discussing Speed Racer as it hits 4K for the first time. Punisher: War Zone (2008)

This week on the Everything Actioncast, Zach and Chris take on the mob with Frank Castle and discuss 2008's Punisher: War Zone as we gear up for The Punisher: One Last Kill on May 12th and The Punisher's appearance in Spider-Man: Brand New Day later this summer. The third movie based on the Marvel Comics vigilante, Punisher: War Zone sees the late Ray Stevenson starring as Frank Castle, who is six years into his mission to wipe out criminals.  After attacking the mob family led by Don Cesare (John Dunn-Hill), Frank is shocked to learn that one of the men he killed was actually an undercover FBI agent, and he tries to make amends to the agent's widow, played by Julie Benz.  He'll later protect her and her daughter from Billy Russoti, who was horrifically disfigured by Frank and now goes by Jigsaw (Dominic West). Zach and Chris discuss the oddly large number of side plots, almost everyone doing some sort of crazy accent, the ridiculously over-the-top violence, how it compares to the comics and other adaptations, Jigsaw's extremely lucrative deal with the FBI, and more. You can watch Punisher: War Zone on The Roku Channel, Hoopla, or Fawesome.  Next week, we're heading into the Danger Zone and discussing the 1986 classic Top Gun as it turns 40. Man on Fire (2004)

This week on the Everything Actioncast, Zach and Chris head to Mexico City on a mission of vengeance with Denzel Washington and discuss the 2004 Tony Scott movie, Man on Fire, as a new version of the story hits Netflix. Based on the novel by A.J. Quinnell, Denzel Washington stars as John Creasy, a former Marine and CIA operative who is racked by guilt from his past actions and has become an alcoholic.  Visiting his friend Paul Rayburn (Christopher Walken) in Mexico City, Creasy takes a job guarding the daughter of wealthy automaker Samuel Ramos (Marc Anthony), Pita Ramos (Dakota Fanning).  While distant at first, Pita's persistent precociousness breaks through his hard shell.  When Pita is kidnapped and believed to be dead when the ransom money drop goes bad, Creasy vows to track down and kill everyone involved.  Zach and Chris discuss the movie's frenetic, music-video style, Christopher Walken's food-acting, how often Creasy uses rectal bombs on people, how none of the kidnapping organization poses a physical threat to Creasy, how everything that happens is because of insurance, and more. You can watch Man on Fire on Starz.  Next week, we're continuing the vengeance with Punisher: War Zone, as we get ready for both The Punisher: One Last Kill and Jon Bernthal's appearance in Spider-Man: Brand New Day.
