Stay to play showcases
Showcases or tournaments that require you to use specific lodging can create a serious problem with your families. If you are contemplating one of these events, you need to have serious conversations with the parents on your team. You have to know your families well enough to know that it won't be a problem for every family. Some want to attend, but the only way they can is to find more affordable housing.Support the Show.

Satellite fields in showcases are a problem
When we go to a showcase, we don't know if we are going to be scheduled to play at a satellite field. Sometimes these fields are some distance from the primary sites. When this happens it makes it more difficult for college coaches to see the players that they want to see. Picking up players should be for a specific reason
Relying on pick-up players to field a team is a sign of weakness and a problem with the basics of the team. Picking up a pitcher can make sense if we are down one. Using a pickup player as a means of trying out one, is a good strategy.Support the Show.

Great listen for softball parents or coaches
I’ve been listening for a couple of months now. I like that they talk about all different age groups. They really seem to have good insight on the game.
Transgender athletes
Someday I hope there is a group of transgender mlb player that identify as 16year old girls and Crush your daughters teams. Cowards!
If you love softball, listen here...
Most reliable and informative softball podcast anywhere. Coach Don and Tory are pros in this game and they leave no stones unturned. Whether you are new or experienced to the game they are great at explaining every concept they talk about that is both thoughtful and insightful in a way that is understandable to anyone listening. A lot of informational podcast come off as too technical and is boring. Everything fastpitch is done well and is entertaining to listen to while you learn. They also conduct great interviews with other coaches, mentors, scouts, and/or something related to the game to help you. Having said that, I feel like in 20 years from now we’ll look back at Coach Don and Tory and day that they will be a huge part of what we are seeing now in the sport: a softball boom.
