Longer review: Wally has been in the business of books for over a decade and brings to the table so much knowledge about censorship laws, banned books, and the importance of protecting representation in YA and all genres of books. While the topic may be heavy and sometimes academic, Wally’s delivery of the information isn’t! They approach these topics in a thoughtful, spirited, easy-to-digest, and educational way, allowing anyone interested to learn more about the history, outcome, and consequences of book censorship. In the first episode, Wally’s discussion with Gregory Taylor is thorough, and the two discuss heavy subject matter with kindness and clarity, showcasing their knowledge but taking the time to explain each concept for people new to the subject matter. I’m sure future episodes will be just as insightful, and I can’t wait to listen!
