Are Your Words Healing You or Harming You?

The Energy of Words: Why What You Consume Matters Have you ever noticed that after listening to certain conversations, podcasts or scrolling social media you feel heavier, more anxious or emotionally drained? In this episode of Evolve or Repeat, I'm exploring something that has become incredibly important in my own life the vibration and energy of the words we hear every single day. After recently listening to a podcast filled with words such as anxiety, depression and trauma, I noticed my own nervous system becoming activated. The moment I switched to uplifting music, my whole body softened. It reminded me just how powerful language can be. Together we'll explore: • Why words carry energy and influence our emotions.• How everything we consume affects us—not just food, but conversations, books, podcasts, music, television, social media and our environment.• The fascinating work of Dr. Masaru Emoto and his water crystal experiments, and why this may matter when our bodies are made up of around 60% water.• Why highly sensitive people and empaths may feel these effects even more deeply.• How your inner dialogue shapes your wellbeing.• Practical ways to protect your energy through conscious media consumption, boundaries and daily rituals.• Simple energy protection practices including grounding, essential oils, Epsom salt baths, crystals and creating supportive environments. This episode is an invitation to become curious about what you're allowing into your mind, body and heart each day. Small changes in what you consume can create profound shifts in how you feel. ✨ Read my book, Be Free, where I explore energy protection, healing, mindset and creating a life that feels aligned. What Happens When You Outgrow Your Life?

Welcome to the very first episode of Evolve or Repeat. This podcast was born from one of the biggest decisions I've ever made: closing my meditation and mindfulness teacher training business after 11 years. It wasn't a decision made from failure. Quite the opposite. The business was successful, growing, and welcoming new students. But deep down, I knew I had changed. My priorities had shifted, my children had grown up, and I found myself craving something I hadn't prioritised for years—peace. In this episode, I share the honest story behind that decision, including the fear, anxiety, grief and freedom that came with choosing to evolve instead of repeating a path that no longer felt aligned. Why I renamed the podcast from Be Free to Evolve or RepeatThe real reason I chose to close my businessWhy success isn't always about doing moreHow life stages naturally change our prioritiesThe identity shifts that can come with menopause and midlifeThe emotions that kept me holding on longer than I needed toHow to recognise when your intuition is asking you to make a changeWhy letting go often creates space for something even betterAs you listen, consider: Where am I evolving?Where am I repeating old patterns because they feel familiar? What am I holding onto that no longer reflects who I'm becoming? If fear wasn't making this decision, what would I choose?I'd love to hear your thoughts after listening. If this episode resonated, please leave a review, subscribe, and share it with someone navigating change. And if you're feeling creative... I'm looking for a podcast jingle! If you'd like to create one for Evolve or Repeat, I'd love to hear it. Thank you for being here at the beginning of this new chapter. Remember Who The F*ck You Are: Reconnecting With Your Authentic Self In this powerful solo episode, Susi shares a deeply personal journey through self-doubt, perimenopause, life transitions, and the challenge of losing connection with who you truly are. After a difficult period of questioning her identity and purpose, Susi experienced a breakthrough that reminded her of a simple but life-changing truth: sometimes you don't need to find yourself, you need to remember who you already are. This episode explores how external pressures, burnout, grief, hormonal changes, societal expectations, and fear can disconnect us from our authentic selves, and what we can do to reconnect with our truth, joy, and purpose. In This Episode We Explore:Why life transitions can make us question who we areThe impact of perimenopause on identity and self-trust How limiting beliefs keep us stuck Reconnecting with childhood passions and forgotten dreams Trusting your intuition and inner wisdom Building self-trust through small daily promises The importance of boundaries and authentic living Why confidence comes after action, not before it Moving from victimhood to empowerment Practical mindset shifts for difficult seasons How to create a life that feels aligned and meaningful Key Takeaways✨ You are not broken you may simply be disconnected from your authentic self.✨ The goal isn't becoming someone else; it's removing the layers that are hiding who you truly are.✨ Your job title, relationship status, health challenges, or past experiences do not define you.✨ Joy matters. Reconnecting with activities that make you feel alive is part of healing.✨ You don't need permission, confidence, or perfect circumstances to start living authentically.✨ Small daily actions build self-trust and create lasting transformation. Questions To Reflect On: Who are you beyond your roles and responsibilities? When was the last time you felt truly alive? What did you love doing as a child that you've forgotten about?Where are you saying "yes" when you really mean "no"? Period Power and Identity with Laura Bailey

New Episode: Period Power and Identity with Laura Bailey This week’s episode of the Be Free Podcast is a rich, honest, and expansive conversation with Laura Bailey — TEDx speaker, librarian, and menstrual awareness advocate — exploring identity, body connection, and what it really means to live in rhythm with yourself. Laura shares how she no longer defines herself by fixed labels or roles, but instead allows her identity to evolve day by day. We talk about how passions, curiosities, and what lights us up are often far more truthful reflections of who we are than job titles or external expectations. A big part of this conversation centres around menstrual awareness and reconnecting with the body. Laura opens up about being disconnected from her cycle for 15 years while on the pill, and how attending a Conscious Cycles event completely changed her relationship with her body. Together, we explore how little education many of us received about hormones, cycles, and contraceptive choices — and the long-term impact of that lack of information. In this episode, we explore: 👉 Identity as something fluid, not fixed 👉 Why reconnecting with your menstrual cycle builds self-trust 👉 The gaps in menstrual and hormonal education across generations 👉 Why “one-size-fits-all” cycle syncing doesn’t work for everyone You’ll also learn: ✅ How tracking your cycle can feel empowering rather than restrictive ✅ Why perimenopause awareness earlier in life really matters ✅ How cyclical living helps you notice repeating patterns and unmet needs ✅ Gentle ways to reconnect with your body through stillness and listening ✅ Why normalising conversations about periods benefits everyone — including men If you’re craving a deeper connection to your body, your cycle, and your sense of self, this episode is a gentle invitation to slow down, listen, and trust your own rhythm. 🎧 Tune in to Be Free Podcast, Series 2 — and explore Period Power, identity, and authentic living. Playing the Hand You are Dealt with John Kippen

New Episode: Playing the Hand You are Dealt with John Kippen  This week’s episode of the Be Free Podcast is a truly inspiring one. I’m in conversation with John Kippen — TEDx speaker, resilience coach, magician, and author — as he shares his powerful journey of overcoming a brain tumour and facial paralysis, and how he found his way back to the stage after years of hiding. John’s story is a reminder of the deep healing power of self-acceptance, choosing to dream again, and stepping forward even when life has dealt us the unexpected. Through storytelling and magic, he now helps others move beyond limiting beliefs and live more authentically. In this episode, we explore: 👉 How hiding parts of ourselves disconnects us from our true power 👉 The role of self-acceptance in healing and rebuilding confidence 👉 Choosing to dream freely again after trauma or major life change 👉 Why surrounding yourself with supportive people is everything 🌿 You’ll also learn: ✅ How to rebuild confidence after illness, trauma, or adversity ✅ Using storytelling as a tool to shift limiting beliefs ✅ Why compassion and deep listening can change lives How small acts of kindness create powerful ripple effects ✅ The mindset behind choosing happiness and self-worth John also shares insights from his book Playing the Hand You are Dealt, encouraging us to see our challenges as gateways to growth rather than endings. If you’re navigating setbacks, self-doubt, or a season of rebuilding, this episode is your reminder that transformation is possible — and you don’t have to walk the path alone. 🎧 Tune in to Be Free Podcast, Season 2 — for an uplifting conversation on resilience, courage, and living authentically. Understanding and Overcoming Health Anxiety

🌗 New Episode: Understanding and Overcoming Health Anxiety  This week’s episode of the Be Free Podcast is a deeply personal one. I’m opening up about my own journey with health anxiety, how it resurfaced during perimenopause, and the tools I’m using right now to steady myself. Health anxiety can feel like a loop you can’t escape — the researching, the scanning, the checking, the fear… and the exhaustion. I’ve been there before, and I found my way through it. And even though it’s resurfaced during this season of hormonal change, I’m using everything I’ve learned to navigate it with compassion rather than panic. In this episode, I share: 👉 Why health anxiety often shows up as a need for control 👉 How perimenopause can heighten fear, overthinking & physical sensitivity 👉 What helped me years ago — and what’s helping me now 👉 Why breaking patterns (like googling symptoms or tracking every sensation) is essential 🌿 You’ll also learn: ✅ How to use breathing techniques to deactivate anxiety ✅ Why body-based practices like Yoga Nidra & body scans are powerful ✅ How to distinguish between symptoms vs. sensations ✅ Why over-reassurance, over-checking & hyperfocus keep you stuck ✅ How holistic habits, boundaries & self-compassion support healing ✅ When anxiety is actually a sign your body needs rest, not fear I also talk about antidepressants, alternative mental health support, and the importance of choosing what genuinely works for you. If you’re living in that cycle of fear, checking, and “what if,” this episode is your reminder that you’re not alone — and that there are ways to create calm, clarity, and trust again. 🎧 Tune in to Be Free Podcast, Season 2 — and learn gentle tools to support your mind, body & nervous system.
