    Who Rules Your Life?

Excel & Reflect Podcast Season 1, Episode 12 Title: Who Rules Your Life? – A Reflection of Allegiance Main Text: Colossians 3:1–2 "Therefore, if you have been raised with Christ, keep seeking the things above, where Christ is, seated at the right hand of God. Set your mind on things above, not on the things that are on earth." Episode Overview: In this episode, we explore a question that cuts to the very core of our identity and purpose: Who truly rules your life?Every person lives under some form of authority—whether we consciously acknowledge it or not. Our decisions, priorities, attitudes, and actions all reveal who or what sits on the throne of our hearts. Drawing from Colossians 3:1–2, we are reminded that a life raised with Christ is a life redirected. It is no longer grounded in earthly pursuits but fixed on heavenly realities. This shift is not just philosophical—it is transformational. Key Theme: Your life will always reflect your allegiance. If Christ rules your life, your thoughts, desires, and actions will increasingly mirror His character. There will be a visible pursuit of things above—things that are eternal, pure, and pleasing to God. However, if you rule your own life, your reflection will naturally align with the world—temporary values, self-centered ambition, and shifting truth. Reflection Questions: What currently has the greatest influence over my decisions and priorities?Do my daily choices reflect a focus on things above or things on earth? In what areas of my life am I still trying to maintain control instead of surrendering to Christ? If someone observed my life, what would they say rules my heart? It matters who rules your heart—because that ruler shapes your life. When Christ is on the throne, your life becomes a reflection of Him. But when the self takes Its place, your life will inevitably reflect the world. So today, ask yourself honestly: Who rules your life?

Live For Christ The Way Christ Lived For You

Episode Theme:A call to reflect Christ not just in belief—but in lifestyle. Welcome:Welcome to the UNTIED Podcast, where we untangle the noise of life with truth, faith, and purpose. In today’s episode, we challenge ourselves with a powerful question: Are we truly living for Christ the way He lived for us? Episode Overview:In this episode, we dive into 2 Corinthians 5:11–17, exploring what it means to live a transformed life in response to the sacrifice and love of Jesus. Paul reminds us that in Christ, we are not just improved—we are made new. That transformation is meant to be seen, lived out, and reflected daily. This isn’t about surface-level Christianity. It’s about a deep, life-altering commitment to live as Christ lived—with purpose, surrender, and devotion. Key Focus:To live for Christ the way He lived for us means embracing a life shaped by His priorities, His mission, and His heart. Main Points:1. A Life Anchored in Prayer Jesus consistently withdrew to pray. If the Son of God depended on prayer, how much more should we? A Christ-centered life is sustained through constant communication with the Father. 2. A Life Committed to Study Jesus knew and lived the Word. Living for Christ requires more than inspiration—it demands immersion in Scripture, allowing truth to shape our thinking and actions. 3. A Life Drawn Near to God Jesus lived in perfect fellowship with the Father. We are called to pursue that same closeness—intentionally drawing near, not drifting through faith. 4. A Life Devoted to Doing God’s Will Jesus declared, “I came not to do My will, but the will of Him who sent Me.” Living for Christ means aligning our desires with God’s purpose, even when it’s difficult. 5. A Life of Submission From the wilderness to the cross, Jesus modeled complete surrender. True discipleship is marked by humility and a willingness to say, “Not my will, but Yours be done.” Key Scripture:2 Corinthians 5:11–17 – A reminder that we are new creations, called to no longer live for ourselves, but for Him who died and rose again on our behalf. Takeaway Thought:You cannot claim the cross of Christ without committing to the life of Christ. He didn’t live halfway for you—so don’t live halfway for Him. Call to Action:Take time this week to evaluate your life. Are you living for Christ—or just believing in Him? Choose one area—prayer, study, submission—and intentionally grow in it. Closing Encouragement:Living like Christ isn’t about perfection—it’s about direction. Each day is an opportunity to reflect Him more clearly. The same love that saved you is the love that now sends you to live differently.

    Considering Prayer

Excel & Reflect – Season 1, Episode 10Considering Prayer: A Reflection on the Power of Prayer Key Text: James 5:14–18 Prayer is a word we use often, but do we truly understand its power? In this episode of Excel & Reflect, we take a thoughtful look at James 5:14–18 and reflect on what Scripture teaches about the power of prayer. Prayer is not simply a religious habit, positive thinking, or routine words spoken into the air. It is direct access to the God who created the world, parted seas, and raised Jesus from the grave. When we pray, we are speaking to the One who holds all things together. Throughout Scripture, we see powerful reminders of what happens when God’s people pray. Elijah prayed and the heavens withheld rain. Hezekiah prayed and God delivered His people. The early church prayed and prison doors opened. These were not coincidences—they were divine responses to faithful prayer. The power was never in the individual praying, but in the God who heard their prayers. This episode also explores the prayer life of Jesus and why prayer was essential to His mission. Before major decisions, in moments of pressure, and even in suffering, Jesus prayed. In the garden, His prayer was so intense that His sweat became like drops of blood, reminding us that prayer is sometimes not only powerful, but painful. Prayer often flows from burden, struggle, and deep dependence on God, yet it remains one of the greatest privileges believers possess. James reminds us that “the effective prayer of a righteous man can accomplish much,” pointing to Elijah as an example. The focus is not on human strength, but on divine power. God listens, Christ intercedes, and the Holy Spirit helps in our weakness. When we pray, heaven is fully engaged. In this episode, we reflect on why prayer matters, why the early church was devoted to it, and why believers today must never neglect this incredible gift. Prayer allows us to bring our fears, burdens, gratitude, and requests directly to God’s throne, trusting that He hears and responds according to His will. In This Episode:The true power behind prayer (James 5:14–18)Biblical examples of God responding to prayerThe prayer life of Jesus and why it mattersWhy prayer can be both powerful and painfulThe role of the Father, Son, and Holy Spirit in our prayersWhy Christians must remain devoted to prayer Key Takeaway:Prayer is powerful not because of who we are, but because of who He is.

    Considering Wisdom

Excel & Reflect Season 1, Episode 9 — Considering WisdomWhat if the greatest limitation in your spiritual growth is the wisdom you refuse to seek? In this episode of Excel & Reflect, we turn our attention to one of the most practical and powerful themes in Scripture — wisdom. Drawing from the book of Proverbs, this episode challenges listeners to think deeply about what it truly means to gain wisdom, pursue understanding, and grow beyond the limits of their current knowledge. Too often, we rely on the wisdom we already have. We lean on our experience, our opinions, and our understanding of the world. But when we do this, we unknowingly place a ceiling on our growth. Proverbs reminds us that wisdom is not something we simply possess — it is something we must continually seek, pursue, and humbly receive from God. In this episode, we explore how true wisdom begins with God and flows into every area of life. We consider the importance of seeking wisdom intentionally, growing in understanding, and maintaining a humble heart that recognizes there is always more to learn. Rather than settling for what we already know, we are called to pursue the wisdom that God freely offers to those who seek Him. This conversation encourages listeners to reflect on their own approach to wisdom and ask honest questions about their growth, humility, and dependence on God’s guidance. Wisdom is not just knowledge — it is a way of living that shapes our decisions, relationships, and spiritual maturity. In This Episode We Discuss:What biblical wisdom really is, according to ProverbsThe danger of relying only on the wisdom you currently haveHow seeking God’s wisdom removes the ceiling on spiritual growthThe connection between wisdom, understanding, and humilityWhy a teachable spirit is essential for Christian maturityPractical ways to pursue wisdom in everyday life Key FocusTrue wisdom comes from God, grows through humility, and is gained by those who continually seek understanding. Reflection QuestionsAm I relying more on my own wisdom or God’s wisdom?Do I actively seek understanding in my daily life?Is my heart humble and teachable before God?Where do I need to grow in wisdom right now? Closing ThoughtWisdom is not about knowing everything — it is about continually seeking the One who does. Join us as we reflect on the wisdom found in Proverbs and learn how to grow beyond our limitations by pursuing the understanding that comes from God.

Would You Die For Them? Or Live For Them?

Excel & Reflect – Season 1, Episode 8 “Would You Die for Them? Or Live for Them?” In this thought-provoking episode of Excel & Reflect, we turn our focus to the calling and responsibility of fatherhood, asking a question that is both powerful and deeply personal: Would you die for your family—or will you choose to live for them? Rooted in Romans 12:1–2, this episode explores the idea that true sacrifice is not always found in a single heroic moment, but in the daily, intentional offering of one’s life in service to others. While many would quickly say they would give their life for their family, this conversation challenges listeners to consider the greater, ongoing commitment of living faithfully, sacrificially, and consistently for those they love. Looking to the example of Jesus, we are reminded that while He did indeed give His life, His death was not the end—it was the means to life. His purpose was rooted in bringing life, transformation, and hope. In the same way, fatherhood—and really, all Christian living—is not defined merely by what we might be willing to give up in a moment, but by what we are willing to give every single day. This episode highlights the lasting impact of a life lived with purpose. While a single act of sacrifice may be remembered, it is a lifetime of faithfulness, presence, and love that shapes generations. Fathers are called not only to protect, but to lead, to nurture, to guide, and to model a life that reflects Christ. Listeners will be encouraged to examine their priorities, their habits, and their influence—considering how daily choices can build a legacy of faith that extends far beyond a single lifetime. Join us as we reflect on what it truly means to offer our lives as a “living sacrifice,” and discover how choosing to live for others is one of the greatest acts of love we can give.
