Explain Boston to Me

Born and raised in Boston (technically Waltham… but we all claim the city), and I absolutely love hearing an “outsiders” perspective. That it comes from Philly is even more interesting, since we both share a baked in sense of gritty, tough, sometimes obnoxious character. Sometimes a bit of a hater ( I’d be the same if I was doing an “explain Philly to me podcast), but seems to be finding her place in our amazing city. Keep up the great work with great guests - do one on Townie culture! Not so fun fact that may be relatable (embarrassing really)… Back in the 90s, when we played hockey vs Newton (large jewish community), our fans used to throw bagels at their goalie when he let in a goal. Stupid I know… sign of the times and we somehow thought it was cool back then. Microcosm of Boston’s ugly race past… hopefully far in the past. They ended up kicking our butt in the playoffs and that kid was the reason!

I’ve listened to most of Lee’s podcast and enjoyed every one. She does an excellent interview and chooses some very interesting people to explain the weirdness of Boston. Also, unlike a lot of hosts, she knows when to let a guest talk at length about something they are passionate about without interrupting. I hope Lee continues with her show for a long time!
