Verdi’s Requiem

The text for this was written in about 1250, when a requiem was meant to be music to sustain the mass of the death. The NAC Orchestra will perform this work on Friday November 9, 2018, in a side-by-side concert with the Bundesjugendorchester (the German Youth Orchestra) and local choirs in Southam Hall.

Adore this podcast. I feel like I’m just listening in on a fascinating conversation in a cafe near a conservatory more than being lectured from a robotic script. I like the longer format that allow them to just ramble at times, because it always leads to fascinating anecdotes and new insights into the artists and their creations. The only negative is the frequency of new posts! Always look forward to the next. Please never stop!
