Exploring Mormon Thought

We are certainly living in a golden age of gospel scholarship. The ease of access to sources, productions, materials, and so on is matches only by their increasingly improving quality! The abundance of books, lectures, podcasts, institutions, publications, shows, and commentaries presents a wealth of knowledge, insights, opinions, research, and testimony reflecting the expertises, convictions, and passions active within (and near) the LDS Church today. Never has it been as easy to heed the commandments of D&C 88 than it is in these days. Discipleship and scholarship are truly rolling forth together, and it is nothing short of an embarrassment of riches at our disposal! I’m so pleased with this podcast!

A huge thank you to the Ostler family. I plan on purchasing the volume series, but in the meantime this podcast is a fantastic primer. One minor note, Blake mentioned in episode 007 that Widtsoe doesn’t cite the scriptures in his work Rational Theology. While reading it I found that in at least one section, so far, titled ‘The Foundation of a Rational Theology’ he quotes D&C 93. Thank you again, for all of your hard work with the podcast, and especially to Blake for sharing a lifetime of knowledge that is helping me a great deal with my own growth.

I’ve never liked “easy” or more accurately, shallow (and sometimes contradictory) answers. The Gospel is profound and this podcast discussion does it justice. I feel my testimony had deepened and broadened. My prayers are more meaningful and I feel my understanding of, and thus my relationship with, God has strengthened. Thank you for all your efforts.
