Expositional Excerpts

There is one goal with each episode: take a verse of scripture, or part of a verse, or even a few verses and look at them in their context to find the meaning of that text. Furthermore, this will be a systematic approach, meaning that it won't be random verses picked here and there, but will work through entire books of the Bible. The aim of this is to make the Bible accessible to virtually any audience and to keep it on the shorter side.     Revelation 19:17-21 covers the second installment of "The Return of the King" and here we are looking at "The Battle Before the Kingdom." To this proposition, we might pose the question: How is Christ described in His triumphant return? In v. 11a we note 1) The Origin of the returning King. Then, the rest of v. 11 describes 2) The Purity of the returning King. Vv. 12-13 detail 3) the Description of the returning King. Then, in v. 14 we note 4) The Entourage of the returning King. Now we discover that V. 15 informs us of 5) The Purpose of the returning King.
