Jimmy Kimmel Live and Lock It In on-air personality Cousin Sal joins NFL Network/Adam Carolla podcast’s Dave Dameshek multiple times a week to discuss sports and entertainment items as well other nonsense almost guaranteed to annoy people.

Jokic Wins MVP, Aaron Rodgers Fallout Odds, and the Jazz Outlast the Clippers
Cousin Sal and Dave Dameshek are back to discuss Dave's awful betting streak before covering the news of Nikola Jokić winning MVP and Utah's win over the Clippers (02:00).
Then they give out their Wednesday picks for the Nuggets-Suns game (15:00).
After that they debate the best way to bet if you think Rodgers is leaving the Packers, before going through the outcome of the situation's effects on the odds for other teams (27:45).
Game 6 between the Bruins and the Islanders is then previewed before they wrap up the show with a spirited debate over sandwich items (40:45).
Mayweather/Paul, NBA Playoffs, Julio Jones to the Titans, and Sal’s Road Trip to See deGrom
Cousin Sal took the family to San Diego this weekend to see the Mets and Jacob deGrom pitch as he lowered his ERA even further to 0.62. Dave recaps his weekend of going to the beach and trying to cleanse himself (02:00).
Sal didn’t watch the Floyd Mayweather/Logan Paul fight and thinks the whole thing is bad for boxing. Dave argues there should be even more fan interaction in sports (08:00).
The guys discuss the NBA playoffs as James Harden is out for Game 2, Brooklyn (1-5.)/Milwaukee and potentially the series, Dave thinks that injuries are really hurting this year’s playoffs. The Clippers win Game 7 against the Mavericks and Dave likes them to continue against the Jazz. Sal gives his picks for Monday night with a Suns/Deandre Ayton parlay (16:30).
Dave explains his process for coming up with the winners for the Sheky Awards as he gave buttermilk donut of the year; Sal questions how he does it. Then, the Titans traded for Julio Jones but Dave doesn’t think this makes them a Super Bowl contender and Sal thinks the Titans miss the playoffs completely. Dave thinks the AFC is loaded and the Patriots could potentially bounce back (36:00).
The guys give their Crown Royal, King of the Court awards- as Sal pays tribute to the Atlanta Hawks and Dave gives Luka his due. They discuss John Rahm being forced to withdraw at the Memorial golf tournament because of a positive Covid test and the gambling implications. Would the PGA have done the same with Phil (50:00)?
Finally, they discuss Islanders/Bruins (-184), the Redsox sweep the Yankees and Sal loves to yell about pitchers not observing the :30 pitch clock. Jim gives his bad point of the show and defends the Mayweather/Paul fight (59:45).
Struggling Lakers, Ban on Pittsburgh Sports Talk, and Knicks/Hawks with Sarah Tiana
Cousin Sal and Dave breakdown last night’s Portland/Denver Game 5 overtime thriller as Damian Lillard takes over but still comes up short. How injuries have affected the NBA playoffs and who comes out of the Western Conference? Plus, can the struggling Lakers still win their series against the Suns (02:00)?
Dave complains about how years ago the New Jersey Devils changed the open ice style of the NHL playoffs and ruined it; until Sal brings him back on track to discuss the upcoming huge Eastern Conference semifinals between the Nets and Bucks as Sal likes the Bucks in 6 (18:15).
Then comedian Sarah Tiana joins the show to discuss the Hawks/Knicks playoff series, Trae Young and the true meaning of saying bless your heart. Dave pitches her a nickname for her group of friends with Megan Gailey and Rachel Bonnetta (28:00).
Sal doesn’t want Primanti Brothers sandwiches and has a better idea for Dave to pay off their Islanders/Penguins bet- but will Dave agree to a temporary ban on Pittsburgh sports talk (46:00)?
Penguins Face Elimination, Rodgers/Woodley Hawaii Vacation, Cowboys bring back #9, Koepka/DeChambeau Staredown
Sal can hardly start the show because Dave is all fired up for Game 6 of the Penguins/Islanders series as Sidney Crosby and the Pens face elimination and/or because Aaron Rodgers is in Hawaii with Shailene Woodley and Miles Teller? Last night, Cousin Sal was a rollercoaster of emotions as he had multiple bets to keep track of during the Lakers/Suns games (02:00).
The guys recap Tuesday night’s NBA games as the Nets look unstoppable if Joe Harris is dropping 25 points a game, the Lakers bounce back and even the series as Chris Paul’s injury could swing the series and the Clippers go down 0-2 as Luka continues to dominate (04:00).
Then Cousin Sal and Dave preview tonight’s games as the Knicks (-2) try to even their series with the Hawks and Mayor Bill de Blasio calls out Trae Young. Sal and Dave think that mayor’s should have real stakes bets instead of just local food wagers. Sal likes the Wizards (+8.5)/Sixers and Dave gives an impassioned speech to the Pittsburgh Penguins (-1.5) and takes them to win and force a Game 7. Plus, Dave doesn’t like the pick of Wayne Gretzky to join the TNT broadcast team (14:30).
Sal has conflicted emotions as the Cowboys give Tony Romo’s number 9 to Jaylon Smith and the guys to discuss why divisions should matter to Aaaron Rodgers and Julio Jones as they think about leaving their current teams (34:15).
Sal can’t get enough of the clip of Brooks Koepka staring down Bryson DeChambeau and says we need more rivalries in golf. Tom Brady and Phil Mickelson will take on Aaron Rodgers and Bryson DeChambeau in the match, but Dave would like to see Cousin Sal versus Rachel Bonnetta. Finally, Dave plays a game of NHL player or prescription drug (54:15).
Jalen Rose, Phil Mickelson and the Old Man Resurgence in Sports, NBA Playoffs, Dave Goes to Aquarium to See the Penguins Instead of Watching the Penguins
Over the weekend, Sal’s son’s team lost in the Little League semi-finals, but he still may go to the finals anyway. Phil Mickelson won the PGA Championship, which brings up the question- is this the year of the old guy (01:45)?
Dave goes to the Aquarium and misses the Penguins game to see actual penguins, the guys don’t understand how he could do this (05:30). Then Sal and Dave discuss all the upsets in the Western Conference round 1, game 1, playoff games and who could be in the most trouble. Sal likes the play-in round but thought it took a toll on both the Warriors and Lakers in their next games. Then they discuss the Eastern Conference and the Knicks return to the playoffs and Trae Young silencing the crowd. Dave still likes the Nets and Lakers to meet in the NBA Finals (15:45).
Then they go back to discussing the NHL Playoffs and the difference between the regular season; Dave doesn’t think it’s good for the game if star driven teams don’t advance (29:30). Sal and Dave give out their Crown Royal: Crown on the Court Winners from the weekend (40:30).
Then Jalen Rose joins the show to discuss sports debate television and how it’s evolved and changed the landscape since he first started. Jalen talks about silencing a crowd on the road, why the play-in tournament is great for the NBA as well as a new mid-season tournament (41:15).
Jalen talks about his recent interview with Chris Webber, what it meant to him and how it may lead to a bigger conversation, plus could the Fab Five been a NBA playoff team and how Bill Simmons influenced his career and the podcast game (57:45).
These two could have a gardening podcast and I’d listen to it. Charm and chemistry off the charts. Both pretty handsome fellas too, if you don’t mind me saying so.
Goodfellas better than Godfather
Sal, I'm with ya. Diamond Dave makes a valid point that Goodfellas may not exist without The Godfather but Goodfellas is the better movie
Sal, how did you let him off easy without mentioning Edelman as a cheater too? Didn’t he get suspended in the year he won the Super Bowl MVP?
Love the show.
