God Continues the Good Work (Philippians 1:12-14) | Herman Moldez, March 22, 2026

God Continues the Good Work (Philippians 1:12-14) | Rev. Herman Moldez, March 22, 2026 Many think they need to be rich to join the work of God. God in His grace uses the poor and powerless as His servants. The Philippians surrendered their lives to the Lord and experienced the example of Jesus to be generous in poverty. If we obey, God will provide what is needed to do His work. We are known to start something good but fail to sustain it for a long haul to complete it. Doing the good work of God is not smooth sailing. Difficult challenges disappoint and discourage us to quit. In Philippians 1:12-14, Paul shared that the good work of proclaiming the gospel had continued extensively despite his imprisonment. The enemy closed the door, but God opened a more strategic opportunity to advance the gospel. No one and nothing can chain the gospel (2Tim 2:9). How do we continue the good work even if terrible things sabotage it? We discern God at work. As Paul reflected his experience of imprisonment, it revealed that God turned it to advance the gospel (v.12). In His sovereignty, God used the disruption to advance the kingdom in Caesar's palace. It is not being positive but seeing in perspective that God is in charge. We follow where He leads. Reflective practice while doing the work of God, lets us see God's hands in coordinated coincidences to converge in His purpose. Knowing God is behind all things declares Christ clearly. It became known that Paul was in chains "for Christ" (v.13). Christ became popular among the palace guards who started gossiping Christ reaching the palace. The prison cell became the platform to proclaim Christ. It is when we ponder and pray that we realize and recognize that life's crisis is a means to reveal Christ. Finally, the story of God's sovereign work develops courage to continue the good work amidst threat and trouble. Paul's prison story inspired courage and confidence on the power of God. Our story of serving God documents the story of God at work in our lives. Doing the work of God will have disruption and delay, persecution and opposition, lack of resources and support? If you are doing the work of God, it will continue no matter what. God continues to complete it. All for His glory.

From Mourning to Dancing (Psalm 30:8-12) | Rev. Herman Moldez, Feb 15, 2026

From Mourning to Dancing (Psalm 30:8-12) | Rev. Herman Moldez, Feb 15, 2026 Life is not friend as we wish it to be. We will be hurt. We will mourn our pain. But God, in His faithfulness will wash our sorrow as we cry for mercy. He will put a new song in our hearts to lift us up to dance with joy. Journeys in life are not always easy. Sometimes it is the mountain peak of Hallelujah. But often it's going through the valley of sorrow. We suffer losses. We struggle down the pit, nursing our pain. Jesus calls us to take up our cross to follow him. We need a proper perspective. Let's learn to embrace seasons of grief. Our tendency is to escape the pain, trying to forget the hurts of life. But in resisting we only repress it to appear with ugly face. The beginning of healing is the humble acceptance of life's reality to cry for God's mercy. Suffering is an experience of spiritual growth. If we could see our little problem in the larger perspective of God's love, then we learn to trust and slowly transform. We know God more deeply not in success but in suffering. Pain purifies the false self to grow our true self, created in the image of Christ. If we accept hurt to allow God to heal us, grieving becomes a place of growing to be equipped with songs of gladness to endure the difficult path. Deep mourning of lament leads to a whirling dance of joy. God's mercy washes sorrow to strengthen hope for the journey. "Lord, let our brokenness become a blessing. Lead us to discover the hidden joy in our sorrow." What prevents your shifting from mourning to dancing?
