Deep into the rabbit hole

I’m new to listening. Currently on season 3. At first I wasn’t sure if I would continue listening. I stuck with you guys and glad I did. You dive deep into the episodes and overthink a lot of stuff…..which I love. My favorite podcasts are long and very detailed. You fit those.

I was not a fan of Ruthie. Sorry, but just something about her was making the episodes not flow well for me. When Kyle came in, it felt complete. He’s great. Brian is amazing. The formatting is nice cause you aren’t just walking through what happened beat for beat. Instead you discuss scenarios and character development. All in all enjoy listening, keep it up.

At first I enjoyed it..

I liked this podcast at first. After they got around to season 2 episodes, I couldn’t tolerate all the weird sound effects, movie/show clips and that annoying “awesome sauce” sound effect. They complain about the show overusing the walker blood camouflage but they way overuse those irritating sound effects.

Ruthie is one of the most annoying podcasters I’ve ever heard so far. The fake laughs, the yelling, disguising her voice and sing songy crap gets old. Not only that but she seems to be the type that is NEVER wrong and comes off as the “know it all” type. The first few episodes I ignored it but it gets unbelievably irritating.

The worst is the constant criticism of the show and writers. They spent a good 40 minutes on just one episode complaining about every filming/writing “mistake”. Every show or movie has a few mistakes here and there. Besides, just because you don’t like an episode or character doesn’t mean it’s “bad writing”. I understand the point of the podcast is to discuss the show but most of their complaints seem very petty and seems like they’re reaching!

Why does Madison get so much hate for wanting nick to come back? That’s her son. To act like she should let Nick go and give all her attention to alicia to make up for the past is insane. Any parent would want to keep her family together (especially during the zombie apocalypse) and would do anything to do just that. Try putting yourself in the characters shoes for a second. It would drive me crazy knowing one of my loved ones was out there and wondering if they were alive or not, if they had water and food, shelter, etc. even if they chose to leave. It wouldn’t have been very believable if madison hadn’t cared and tried so hard to convince nick to come back.

Often Better Than The TV Episodes!

This is a long podcast each week but the listen is worth it for the discussions; I especially enjoy Kyle's real world breakdowns.

Their use of "sauces" for favorite or hated elements of each episode make for a unique take on recapping episode highlights! I also love that they don't shy away from the negatives of episodes like other podcasts might - they discuss both the good and the bad so it feels like an honest recap. The mix of listener feedback and hosts comments is another way this podcast feels fresh from others; I understand enjoying the structure of recap then feedback but this mix of feedback and comments is again something new so as a blend into your normal listens again I'd recommend this show for a bit of flavor.

3 hosts may seem like a lot but this team makes it work so everyone is heard and there's no jumble of audio while it's happening!
