    Fearless Authenticity Episode 7: Authenticity in Politicians

    Authenticity in Politics The idea of “authenticity” always comes up during election cycles and when critical issues that can impact a mass of people are being debated. Voters want to get to know politicians on a more personal level, and being seen as authentic has become even more important. Given these tumultuous times, how hard is it for politicians to say what they’re really thinking and feeling, rather than what they’re supposed to think and feel? Join us Wednesday September 9 @ 12PM EST and hear about authenticity from a politician’s point of view. Guests Councilmember At-Large Derek Green, Esquire is a member of the Philadelphia City Council. Derek chairs the Committee on Finance and Disabilities, and also serves as the Chair of the Committees on Aging and Law and Government. Delegate Mary Lehman is a member of the Maryland House of Delegates.  Mary serves on the House Environment and Transportation Committee, is Vice Chair of the Prince George’s County Affairs Subcommittee and serves on the Anne Arundel County Education Subcommittee. The Honorable Robert Scott is a former member of New Hampshire House of Representative and was Treasurer and Executive Board Member of the New Hampshire Republican State Committee for 25 years. Robert is a political consultant to numerous First in the Nation Presidential Primaries, Senatorial and Gubernatorial contests.

    In their role, lawyers face myriad challenges. There is the stress from long hours and difficult clients, and pressure from demanding partners and tough judges and juries. As one can imagine, the emotional turmoil alone can be crippling if left unchecked. In light of all this, is being authentic as a lawyer one of these challenges? Find out, as Dr. Sherri and Dr. James talk to William Dolan, a partner in the Group of Jones Day in Chicago, Patti Jones of The Law Offices of Patti Jones in Boston, and Jennifer Gomez-Hardy of Gomez Law Group in Philadelphia.

    Today, Dr. Sherri and Dr. Jim are joined by Aida Lewis (curriculum development and design, French teacher at Lake Country Montessori School), Steve Bollar “Stand Tall Steve” (school culture and climate expert and adjunct instructor at Rutgers University) and Hannah Lee (information architect and librarian currently employed at LAC Group) and they dive into their individual journeys into the world of education, and the difficulties they face regularly regarding their abilities to stay authentic!

    Fearless Authenticity Episode 4: Authenticity in Pro Sports

    Today, Dr. Sherri and Dr. Jim are joined by Rick Eber, Marcus Allen, and Marc Jackson.   Rick is a retired NFL wide receiver who is now one of our star Positive Power and Influence trainers.   Marcus Allen also a former NFL player who currently is the Chief Executive Officer of Big Brothers Big Sisters Independence Region, the Greater Philadelphia region’s largest and most experienced youth mentoring organization, serving children in Southeastern PA and Southern NJ.   Marc Jackson is an analyst for the Philadelphia 76ers. Prior to working for the 76ers he played professionally, for 13 years, both in the NBA and overseas. The Temple University product now resides in South Jersey.

    On this episode of Fearless Authenticity, Dr. Sherri and Dr. Jim are joined by George Simmons, who despite being pro-poc for the entirety of his adult life has had issues with some of his peers who think he isn't properly supporting them. They are also joined by Eliza VanCort, who is a communication expert with a focus on intersectional women’s empowerment and creating safe and welcoming workspaces for all.
