Alex Maiolo (Themes For Great Cities)

Welcome to The MewX Podcast! This week we're joined by the brain behind the Themes For Great Cities project, Alex Maiolo. Alex, Jonas Bjerre, Jonas Kaarnamets, Erki Pärnoja and the city of Tallinn, released an album earlier this month, of music made largely on modular synths, performed live at Tallinn Music Week. It's an inspirational talk about how the four guys and one city came together, creating music and a great friendship. We also hear about how they made the album, Alex's musical inspirations, his relationship with Mew, modern ways of creating and consuming music versus old, and much more. The album is available on limited edition red vinyl, pressed at Citizen Vinyl in Asheville, NC, and digital download on moroderikmusik.bandcamp.com. Credits: Host: Thomas Dyregaard.
