The Emperor's New Podcast

FULL DISCLOSURE: I was a guest on an early episode. The Affection and Passion that our host has for this particular series is rather remarkable, and it certainly shows in every episode. It’s a one man operation, and very clearly a labor of love for an extended universe that doesn’t really get the attention it deserves.

This podcast is a must for any fan of Disney or the “Emperor’s New...” franchise. Micah is an excellent host who does a great job of sharing his passion for said franchise while also bringing in different guests to get their take on it as well. Def check it out!

So, even before it came out that the creator hosted a kickstarter, then gave up on the project (SHARKS) without refunding his supporters, it’s kind of clear that he’s not putting in a lot of effort. Not only do the episodes come out at a snails pace, but a lot of it is buffeted by research told clearer in other sources and jokes that could stand to be funnier. All told, a disappointing experience that just says more about the creator than his supposed field of expertise. Hard pass.

I never thought a show centered on a single movie could work, but this show reminded me just how much there is to the world of TENG and that all of it deserves exploration! The depth and breadth of knowledge here is astounding and really makes for a thought-provoking show. Really enjoyed it!
