Dr. Michele Koons-Archaeologist

Dr. Michele Koons is the curator of archaeology at the Denver Museum of Nature & Science. She is especially interested in ancient political dynamics, social networks, and how people of the past interacted with their environment. Michele has conducted archaeological research throughout the United States, Peru, Bolivia, Chile, and China. Michele grew up outside of Philadelphia and attended the University of Pittsburgh for her BA and the University of Denver for her MA degree, where she explored the site of Tiwanaku in Bolivia. Michele went on to Harvard University for her PhD and pursued research on the Moche archaeological culture of Peru. She currently conducts research in the American Southwest, on Colorado’s Front Range, and in Peru. She curates the Museum’s archaeological collections from Latin American, North America, and Egypt

Cassie LaGreca-Business Owner and listening to your heart

Owner. Creative Director. Lead Event Designer. Cassie is the Co-founder of Better to Gather Events and our lead event designer. She has been working in the industry for over a decade. Since 2013, she has taken Better To Gather from doing nine events a year, to a hundred. She has an obvious passion for getting to know people, designing, and making sure no two events are ever exactly alike. When she is clocked out, she enjoys spending time with family and her two pugs. When she's clocked in you can find her working from our sofa and drinking gallons of iced tea!

Tameca Coleman-Insight into an artist's mind

Tameca L Coleman is a singer, multi-genre writer, itinerant nerd, and point and shoot art dabbler in Denver, Colorado. Their work explores heartbreak and healing, finding the words for our experiences, familial estrangement, being ‘in-between’ things, finding beauty, even during times of strife, and movement towards reconciliation. Their writings have been published in Pulpmouth, Rigorous Magazine, Inverted Syntax, Full Stop Reviews, Heavy Feather Review, Lambda Literary, and more. Their photography has been featured in literary magazines and at Denver Westword. Their debut book An Identity Polyptych will be available September 2021 from The Elephants on the Salish Sea. Amanda Rose (she/her) is a director, intimacy choreographer, and immersive performance creator. She founded the Rocky Mountain Artists' Safety Alliance, and works as a safety consultant for immersive productions, larps, and educational programs throughout the USA. She gets paid to make cops cry, she clowns professionally, she adopts special needs animals, and she's a badass DM. She's also almost a doctor, which is cool.

Sujana Chand is a professional Singer and Actress from California. She is a graduate of Tisch School of the Arts at NYU and has since toured with both Broadway shows (Bombay Dreams) and Cirque du Soleil (O, Salitmbanco and Wintuk). She has vast experience performing on stages with various theatres all over the country. Sujana was most recently sailing around the world, entertaining guests globally with Princess Cruises. She is also a certified Teacher and Vocal Coach.

Jennifer works in the pharmaceutical industry, is a mother of two, and is still the most laid-back person I know. Korean born and adopted in the US at the age of three to Caucasian parents, Jen’s suburban life was no different than anyone else’s, except for other Korean-raised kids. Now raising two half Korean/white/Jewish boys, we are here to talk about Racial Ambiguity and embracing community outside of faith.

We meet Lindsay Merrill, former dancer, who struggles with an eating disorder that started in college while she was a dance major. Through this challenge, Lindsay has found a new voice and career in clinical psychology. She is hoping to be able to work with others who suffer from anxiety, eating disorders, and trauma.
