Faith got the chance to speak with the production sound mixer Ande Schurr yesterday about all of the incredibly complex sonic challenges faced when filming on a tropical island for Lord of the Flies. Ande Schurr is a Singapore-based Production Sound Mixer with over 20 years of international experience in feature films, high-end series, and documentaries. She has served as an advisor to NASA on astrobiology, human spaceflight and advanced technologies. Edith Mudge is a composer, orchestrator, and music editor based in Los Angeles. Her portfolio spans a wide variety of genres that converge at her love of live instrumentation, synth programming, teamwork, and attention to detail. In addition to composing all the music for Life Unearthed, she orchestrated and produced the score’s live recordings in Los Angeles and Europe. Nathan Moody, the Supervising Sound Editor works as a freelancer as well as through Skywalker Sound. He has worked on blockbuster feature films, award-winning documentaries, and award-winning games for AAA studios and indie developers alike. He handled all sound design, editing, and mixing duties on Life Unearthed.     My guest today is Scott Manke, a audio post-production professional specializing in sound effects. With over a decade of experience in sound editing, sound design, and video and audio production Scott’s work spans award-winning animated shows, features, and audio dramas for studios like Adult Swim, Cartoon Network, HBO Max, and Disney. He’s also collaborated with artists such as Halsey and Fall Out Boy, and most recently worked on Adult Swim's The Elephant, a three-act narrative experiment in which each creator or pair of creators develops a segment independently, without seeing what the others are making.     Building a Dolby ATMOS Studio from scratch with Franck Reisner

    Franck Reisner is a producer, cultural entrepreneur and studio founder. He built Studio89, Estonia’s first Dolby Atmos Music studio, from scratch – starting with straw panels and a DIY spirit – into a hub for immersive sound, mixing, and international collaboration. Today, Studio89 unites engineers, musicians, and composers across recording, post-production, and game audio. Franck’s vision reaches beyond the studio: he is developing a Music Production House in Tallinn, a future hub of studios, rehearsal rooms, and creative companies, designed to anchor local talent and connect Estonia internationally. With roots in theater and children’s musicals, and experience running professional songwriting camps, he sees music as both a craft and a bridge.
