Worthy Stokes: The Liberation in Acceptance & Taking Life 60 Seconds at a Time

Beth Clayton (your host) is a soul-based life coach who loves to help open-hearted people break free from their own self-sabotage, outdated thought patterns, and past pain so they can deepen their relationship with their own soul’s intuition, speak their truth courageously and fulfill their most authentic desires. She knows that creating in our external world is all about going deeper into our internal world and finding our own liberation. She is the creator of multiple group programs, retreats, and transformational workshops, leading hundreds of truth-seekers toward finding freedom and ease in their relationship with themselves, empowerment in their lives, and the ability to take powerful and consistent action toward their dreams.

Worthy Stokes is the founder of HeartMind® Meditations and author of The Daily Meditation Book of Healing. She is a polytrauma survivor who lives with life-altering sensory loss since overcoming a complicated traumatic brain injury overseas at the age of 34. Her vivid Near Death Experience, a decade of advanced meditation training that began in 2008 with her introduction to Dzogchen, and her battle to retrieve her very own mind inspired her career of teaching meditation and coaching at the nexus of nondual wisdom, emergent neuroscience, and open awareness.
Worthy is endorsed by world-renowned medical doctors teaching at Columbia University, University of Pennsylvania, and beyond. She is widely known as a healer for the healers among award-winning CEOs, trauma survivors, psychologists, and somatic experts who appreciate her interdisciplinary perspective of meditation.
Worthy has spent countless hours with her neurologists reviewing maps of her own brain, she has followed clinical research studies since meeting the late Dr. Candace Pert in 2007, and she directly apprehends the mystical complexity of transformation.
She guides online meditation programs and shares her free time with her husband, who is an adult literacy expert; he helps her read and write. Worthy holds a bachelor of arts degree in Journalism, and she is currently writing her second book. And yes, crazy but true, Worthy is her real, given birth name;)

In this session, we will dive into:
How emotional contagion is surfacing in collective trauma and how we are experiencing it on an individual level.  How Worthy’s NDE, polytraumatic brain injury, and sensory loss prepared her to ground herself amidst uncertainty and change.  The trauma that can happen in quarantine that is associated with activation and simultaneous entrapment.  The gifts present in the time of quarantine and global pandemic.  How Worthy learned to start living sixty seconds at a time.  Why hitting rock bottom and acceptance of “terrible circumstances” is the first step in liberation.  Why denial can be super valuable as we travel toward acceptance.  How denial keeps us separate from our intelligence and resourcefulness.  Why we always receive the information we need to heal at the exact moment we are strong enough to handle it.  The importance of giving ourselves and others grace as we learn and transform.

Mark Price helps to ignite fearlessness and authenticity for creatives and entrepreneurs. With 20 years of experience as an artist and 15 years as a teacher and coach, his mission has always been to help individuals re-engineer their lives from the inside out and create sustainable change. In addition to being the founder of Alchemy Collective, he's taught for Ziva, MNDFL, and The Spring Meditation in New York City, as well as leading various corporate training programs. Mark discovered Vedic meditation after experiencing the effects of PTSD and performance anxiety. He found the effects to be so transformative that he embarked on a 17-month teacher training process which included studies in Rishikesh, India, completion of advanced courses in Vedic knowledge, as well as continued study with some of the preeminent masters of Vedic knowledge.

In this session, we will dive into:
The phases that we are going through collectively during a pandemic; shock, resilience, and reintegration (destruction and re-birth) How the Vedic law of karma (cause and effect) is playing itself out through the challenges of a global pandemic.  How everything (even negative circumstances) is simply evolution.  How this time is asking us to ask the question (both individually and collectively” to assess, “What is sustainable with what we are doing right now?” How we are in a crisis of systems, and how the current government is reflecting that and serving as a destruction operator.  How darkness is always present to illuminate the light through adversity and expand consciousness.  The importance of taking action born of stillness instead of fear.  How this time is unveiling our communal Gross suggestibility that happiness lives on the other side of constant doing.   How this time is actually grounding our internal peace.  How meditation, stillness, and spiritual practice can generate more powerful, dynamic, and distilled action.  How to ground yourself around family members who disagree or are not interested in growing in the same we are growing.  How resistance is an indication we are on our growth edge.

In this session, we will dive into:
What has been going on in Beth’s world and why she waited so long to start Season 3 (hint hint...it has a little something to do with global pandemic). What “thin space” moments and “liminal periods”, how we are experiencing them collectively right now, and what they have to offer us.  The similarities between the moment we are in and the contractions of child labor.  Why the most courageous and spiritual work we can do is aligning our actions with our humanity.  The importance of initiation moments in our own growth.  How & where self-sabotage may be popping up right now.  The crucial importance of seeing our shadows rise to the surface without judging ourselves.  How shame can prevent us from seeing the growth opportunities in front of us.  The mistake in believing we are “living life” and that we can “control” what happens in our lives.  How this moment in time can lead to greater love, joy, and meaning in our lives if we allow it to transform our perspective.

Tricia Barker--Angels in the OR & What Death Can Teach Us About Living Fiercely

Tricia Barker experienced a profound near-death experience during her senior year of college at
the University of Austin after getting into a car wreck and going into surgery. At the time, Tricia
did not consider herself a religious or spiritual person in the least, but everything changed that
day. Her near-death experience story has been featured on I Survived: Beyond and Back, National
Geographic Magazine, Simple Grace Magazine, Women’s World Magazine, and The Doctor Oz Show.
Years after her Near-Death Experience, Tricia moved to South Korea to teach and experienced
deep sexual trauma when she was brutally raped, and then dismissed by law enforcement. In her
memoir, she dives deep into how her insights into life after death were instrumental in her ability
to heal her heart and her mind, and how the courage humans must exhibit to truly live in our
bodies is incredibly powerful. She wrote all about it in her memoir, Angelsin the OR: What Dying
Taught Me About Healing, Survival, and Transformation. Tricia also interviews healers and NDE-ers
on her YouTube Channel, “Be the Light of Your Own Healing.”

In this episode, we dive into:
    ● The details of Tricia’s NDE, including the verifiable details that would have been impossible
to know while she was unconscious in surgery.
    ● The mission Tricia received while in her NDE that defied her current path.
    ● The beings of light or “angels” that Tricia met in the OR and what they communicated to
    her.
    ● The experience of unconditional love, and why it makes her emotional to talk about even
    to this day.
    ● The intuitive and energetic “gifts” that she returned with that sometimes she wished she
    didn’t have.
    ● The gifts Tricia returned with and the healing she found in supporting her father as he
    passed away.
    ● How she used her insight into life beyond the physical to help heal herself from sexual
    trauma that occurred years later.
    ● The paradox found in understanding oneself as a spiritual being but still being in the
sometimes incredibly painful and difficult human experience.
    ● What living fiercely means to someone who has experienced death.

This podcast changes the way I behave daily. It’s so synchronistic to what’s going on in my life. I had a bad emotional week as a mother...boom just like that Beth makes a podcast on exactly what I was going through. Last night I got hit with a huge roadblock on a business I’m developing...and the first thing I thought to do was to check fiercely human to see if there was anything to help me...there was!!!the last podcast gave me tools and inspiration to figure out what was really in my way to achieving my goals. So smart, so important. Please listen. If everyone in the world listened I think the world would be drastically different and a drastically better place. Beth can you be president of life please? Thanks.
