    Okay…Now what?

    What happens when the life you’ve known for nearly half of your existence suddenly isn’t going to be your life anymore? In the first episode of Figuring It Out, I’m starting at the beginning—or maybe the end. At 32, after 15 years with the same person, I’m facing divorce and trying to understand what comes next. Not just after a relationship, but for me. Who am I without being someone’s boyfriend, constant, or husband? How do you learn to be alone when you’ve spent your entire adult life with someone? And how do you fall in love with yourself when you’re not even sure you recognize who you’ve become? I talk about the strange mix of heartbreak, fear, excitement, uncertainty, and even humor that comes with starting over—and why two completely opposite emotions can sometimes be true at the same time. I don’t know what the next six months will look like. I don’t know who I’ll be on the other side of this. For once, maybe I don’t need to. No roadmap. No perfect answers. Just figuring IT out.
