Final Draft

Sebastien and Eric

Final Draft is Sebastien and Eric thinking out loud about AI, humanity, and the companies they can't seem to stop starting. They're experienced leaders, serial entrepreneurs, and AI superusers who put new tools to work in real life. Expect candid conversations about what AI makes possible, what still takes human judgment, and the ideas that might become their next venture.

Does it really matter how we got the answer?

AI is producing answers we can’t fully explain—but what happens to us when we outsource the thinking? Sebastien and Eric unpack how AI models and agents work, debate whether writing is a skill or a way of thinking, and explore the promise of an endlessly patient AI mentor—along with the question of whose goals it serves.

Special: Raising Minds — A Thought Experiment

Raising Minds is a spoken-word science-fiction story about raising intelligence rather than simply programming it. It imagines communities nurturing living biological minds—beings that depend on our care, then grow beyond us. Could they learn to care for us by being cared for? The soundscape draws on how biological computers can be trained: predictable and unpredictable electrical stimulation provide feedback to living neurons. The story translates that contrast into sound—warm sine waves through moments of care and possibility, and unsettling static through moments of overload and control. It turns the question back on us: What kind of environment are we creating for our own minds through technology? As we build and train new intelligence, what are our feeds, platforms, and torrents of information training into us—and into our children?

Human minds, artificial minds, and alignment

Sebastien and Eric explore what human and artificial minds have in common, from reinforcement learning to confident mistakes. They discuss alignment, raising children alongside AI, and how scarcity and abundance shape our expectations.

The biological Tamagotchi (that could die for real) and the coal age of AI

After a demonstration of living neurons interacting with Doom, Sebastien and Eric imagine a biological Tamagotchi—one that could die for real. They compare today's AI boom with the coal age of the industrial revolution and ask what progress means when computing uses living cells.

  5. Sep 24

    What makes a mind?

A second conversation about lab-grown neurons, digital intelligence, consciousness, and whether new kinds of minds change what it means to be human.

  6. Sep 23

    The first conversation.

Robot arborists, consciousness, and finding a place in an AI-shaped world. Our first unedited recording. A starting point for figuring out what this show could become.
