    How change actually happens: the 6 stages of change

    If you've ever wondered why some habits stick and others keep sliding, even though you know exactly what to do, this episode is for you. I'm walking you through the Stages of Change, the model behind how change actually happens (and the one I trained in for my Level 3 PT). We'll cover all six stages, from "change? what change?" right through to the habit becoming just part of who you are, and the most important message of all: relapse isn't proof you've failed. It's built into the cycle. Along the way we'll get into why change is a spiral rather than a circle (you never go back to square one), why you're at different stages for different habits (maintenance with training, contemplation with wine... sound familiar?), and why most "failed" attempts were never a willpower problem. They were the right effort at the wrong stage. No quick fixes, no punishing rules, just an honest map of where you are and what actually helps next. Your one job this week: pick one habit, name its stage, and take the matching step. Moving one stage forward is progress.     Staying Consistent Through Summer (It's Not About Willpower)

    You wanted to be that girl this summer: consistent, strong, not starting again every Monday. Then the sun came out and the whole routine melted. In this episode I'm walking through why summer breaks our routines — the heat, the holidays, the kids being off, and why none of it is a willpower problem. Then I'll give you the three shifts that keep you going without white-knuckling it or giving up entirely: shrink the standard (don't drop it), remember food freedom doesn't take a summer holiday, and protect your non-negotiable minimum. We'll cover the practical bits too: training in a heatwave, staying on track with kids at home, holiday eating without the guilt, and why getting back on track happens at the next meal — not next Monday, and never "after the summer". Your one job this week: figure out your non-negotiable minimum, the smallest version of your routine you'll keep no matter what.
