    Episode 3 I GOT CUT TWICE

    As a freshman in high school, I got cut from two showcase teams. All of my friends made the teams. I didn't. At the time, I thought baseball was trying to tell me who I was. I felt embarrassed, frustrated, and like I wasn't good enough. But looking back, getting cut wasn't defining me—it was developing me. In this episode of Find It Within, I share one of the toughest moments of my athletic journey and the lessons it taught me about confidence, failure, identity, and resilience. We discuss: • What athletes really feel after rejection • Why so many athletes tie their identity to performance • How parents can help their athletes process disappointment • The difference between failure and being a failure • How confidence is built through adversity One of the biggest lessons I learned: Failure and success are on the same road. Failure is simply an earlier exit. Too many athletes quit at the first exit without realizing success may have only been a few miles farther down the road. If your athlete has ever been cut, overlooked, doubted, or felt like they weren't good enough, this episode is for you. Because sometimes the setback isn't the end of the story.
