Reset Your Focus, Renew Your Faith (getting back to what matters) | Season 10 Ep 3

Send us Fan Mail Your focus can drift in seconds, especially when life feels unfair and God’s answers feel heavy. We sit with Habakkuk 1:12–17 as Habakkuk brings his second complaint straight to God and asks the questions many of us are afraid to say out loud: Why would a holy God allow wicked people to win? Why use an evil empire like Babylon to discipline God’s own people?  We talk honestly about what it means to keep the lines of communication open with God when you’re disappointed. Habakkuk models something powerful: he understands what God says, still struggles with it, and still returns to pray. Along the way, we ground ourselves in core Bible basics about who God is. God is not the universe, not nature, and not an idol you can move around. He is the living Creator, sovereign over history, and worthy of trust even when the situation hurts.  If your mind has been pulled by fear, outrage, or what you’ve “seen” online, this is a reset back to what we know about God’s character and our identity as his children. Subscribe, share this with a friend who needs their focus restored, and leave a review letting us know what steals your focus the fastest. Support the show STAY CONNECTED... When God Finally Answers (and what the waiting was doing in you) | Season 10 Ep 2

Send a text What if God’s answer to injustice isn’t what we expect—but exactly what we need? We pick up Habakkuk’s cliffhanger and step into a bold, unsettling message: God is at work in our day, even through forces that seem unstoppable. Reading Habakkuk 1:5–11, we trace how the rise of Babylon exposes the gap between our sense of fairness and God’s standard of justice, and why sovereignty never excuses evil but always sets its limits. We walk through the shock of “I am raising up the Babylonians,” unpack what it means for God to use imperfect instruments, and follow the thread that runs through Scripture: God alone is judge, every deed meets his review, and pride always falls. The empire’s speed and swagger look invincible, yet the text ends with a whisper that roars—then they vanish like the wind. That turn invites us to live differently: to examine fruit over appearances, to choose humility over hype, and to anchor hope where politics and power cannot reach. Along the way, we connect Habakkuk’s world to ours—headlines, hard seasons, and the long wait for answers—and find practical footing for faith. Trust does not ignore pain; it remembers God’s character when plans stay hidden. If he can raise up, he can also bring down. If he permits a season, he also draws the boundary. Aligning with the lowly places us near the heart of Christ, where justice, mercy, and courage grow. Listen now, subscribe, and share this episode with someone who needs a steadier view of power and a stronger hope for tomorrow. And if this encouraged you, leave a review and tell us what verse you’re holding onto this week. Support the show STAY CONNECTED... Please be sure to RATE, REVIEW, and SUBSCRIBE. Where is God when life feels unfair (where God is in the middle of it) | Season 10 Ep 1

Send a text What do you do when justice feels frozen and your prayers echo back in silence? We open season ten by sitting with Habakkuk, a “minor” prophet with a majorly relevant question: how long? Instead of preaching at the crowd, Habakkuk takes his complaint straight to God, and that bold move becomes our model for honest faith in a noisy, anxious age. A central thread is timing. Habakkuk’s “how long” meets our own delays—dreams deferred, healing that lingers, change that creeps. Waiting can feel like neglect, yet Scripture reframes it as formation. From Abraham and Sarah to the early church, endurance stretches our capacity for joy and steadies us for what’s next. Rather than run to pundits and quick fixes, we practice running to God with our questions and our ache. That posture keeps the door open for revelation we can’t manufacture. We close by pairing Habakkuk with Romans 8: creation groans, and so do we, but the groan is a birth pain, not a dead end. To embrace God is to embrace His will, wisdom, and timing—even when our own timelines fray. This conversation is an invitation to pray honestly, wait expectantly, and find courage in a God who can handle our hardest words. How A Short Psalm Can Reset Your Holiday Priorities | Season 9 | Bonus Episode (instant replay)

Send us Fan Mail The lights are bright, the lists are longer, and yet something in us still aches for a quieter center. On Christmas Eve, we press pause on our regular series and lean into a short but piercing psalm—Psalm 131—to find a perspective that steadies the heart. Not a lecture, but a living-room moment: kids, tape, laughter, and the sudden clarity that presence beats performance and worship beats worry. We dig into the psalm’s core image of a weaned child—calm, content, and anchored—not because life is easy, but because trust has grown. That picture reframes the season. We talk candidly about how pride can hide in busy generosity, how we grab for control when money, health, or expectations slip, and how the incarnation is a mystery meant to be adored more than solved. The birth of Jesus—fully God and fully man—sits higher than any tradition, plan, or gift, and setting him first simplifies everything else. You’ll hear why letting go of “matters too great” isn’t defeat but discipleship, how a quieted soul fuels better love for family and neighbors, and how returning to first love resets joy. We contrast trivial treasures with the God who withholds no good thing and gave us his Son. The result is a gentle but firm call: worship Christ, find contentment in his care, and carry that peace into every room you enter. If this message helps you breathe a bit easier and center on Jesus, share it with someone who needs that same peace. Why your soul feels off (and how God restores you) | Season 9 Ep 10

Send a text A story so short it fits in your pocket, yet it turns our sense of value upside down. We open Luke 15:1–7 and sit with the scandalous love of a Shepherd who leaves ninety-nine to find one, who lifts the weary onto his shoulders, and who turns recovery into a neighborhood celebration. No scolding, no ledger, just relentless pursuit and shared joy that sounds a lot like heaven. If you’ve wandered for days or decades, hear this: the search does not stop. If you feel secure among the ninety-nine, you’re safe enough to cheer the rescue. Together, we learn why heaven throws a party when the lost are found and why our communities should echo that music. Press play to be reminded that every soul is worth the search, that strength is available when yours is gone, and that joy is the native language of God’s people. How to Trusting God In Hard Seasons (when you feel uncovered) | Season 9 Ep 9

Send a text When the holiday laughter fades and the room gets quiet again, the old aches return: bills, diagnoses, strained friendships, the gnawing sense that you’re pushing hard and sliding back. We go there with Psalm 31 and let David show us how to live honestly in the tension—naming pain without pretending and trusting God without numbing. We start with the emotional drop that follows celebration and move into David’s raw inventory of grief, loneliness, and exhaustion. Then we ask the question that holds the whole episode together: what does courage look like when the circumstances won’t budge? Psalm 31 offers a clear path. Tell the truth about where you are. Refuse the shortcut of denial. Put your weight on the God who doesn’t change when everything else does. We explore how trust is not a feeling but a practice—casting cares, choosing prayer over panic, and returning to the shelter of God’s presence. You’ll also hear a personal story from repeated hospital stays during a high‑risk pregnancy and the line that reshaped everything: if God wanted me out, I would be out; since I’m still in it, He’s in it with me. That perspective doesn’t erase pain, but it anchors the heart.  By the end, we leave you with a simple refrain to carry through the week: you are covered—behind, before, and beside. If this encouraged you, follow the show, share it with someone who needs courage today, and leave a quick review so others can find it. What’s one burden you’ll name—and trust God with—this week? When You're in a Dry Season (how God brings breakthrough) | Season 9 Ep 7

Send a text We open 1 Kings 18 and walk with Elijah through a season of drought, a dangerous assignment to face King Ahab, and a small sign that turns into a storm. The journey isn’t neat. That tension—acting on God’s promise while the sky stays empty—speaks straight to anyone waiting for change. This is soul work for anyone wrestling with waiting, courage, or spiritual clarity. We talk about what real obedience looks like when fear is loud, why the blessing is found in alignment rather than outcome, and how the voice of God often meets those who make room to listen.  We explore how to notice small signals, interpret them with wisdom, and move when God moves. If you’re hungry for biblical encouragement, spiritual resilience, and practical steps to wait well, this conversation offers a path from scarcity to storm.
