From Hopeless to Hopeful (How to Activate Your Faith Again) | Season 10 Ep 8

Send Comments, Questions, Thoughts When life looks like a loss on every line item, faith can feel naïve. Habakkuk 3 rejects that kind of shallow optimism and offers something sturdier: a prayer that tells the truth about pain while still choosing to trust. We wrap up our From Turmoil to Trust season by finishing the book of Habakkuk and sitting with the tension every believer knows: trouble is real, and God is still God. We read from Habakkuk 3 and slow down on the way the prophet ends his book: not with one more argument, but with a song of prayer. That framing matters. Prayer becomes the bookmark that holds the whole story together, from uncertainty to assurance. Along the way, we talk about revival as “bringing back to life,” the kind of inner restart you need when you’re bruised, exhausted, or stuck in the same cycle again. We also zoom in on Act Two’s focus on who is actually moving: the Eternal One, unchanging, powerful, and able to shake what feels immovable. Then we land on the line that challenges all of us: “even though” everything fails, “yet I will rejoice.” That’s not denial; it’s a decision to anchor joy in God’s character, not in perfect circumstances.  If you’ve got Bible questions, we also announce the Grab the Faith Question Challenge, including ways to submit and earn bonus entries. When Evil Seems to Win: Finding Hope in God's Justice | Season 10 Ep 7

Send Comments, Questions, Thoughts Some warnings in the Bible feel ancient until you hear them with today’s headlines playing in the background. We keep walking through Habakkuk and land in Habakkuk 2:15-20 (NIV), where God calls out exploitation, humiliation, violence, and the quiet cruelty of people using others for personal gain. If you’ve been carrying anger, grief, or plain exhaustion about what’s happening in the world, we sit with a steady truth: there is an expected end. God sees oppression, corruption, and misuse of power, and none of it gets the final word. From there, we turn the spotlight inward with a tough question: are we trusting dead things or the living God? Idolatry is not only carved statues. It can be money, pride, greed, status, and anything we treat as ultimate. We also talk plainly about modern spiritual substitutes that promise “guidance” but have no breath in them.  We also shift our posture toward people who are far from God. Scripture reminds us we’re not only wrestling with flesh and blood, so we don’t lead with condemnation. We lead with compassion, courage, and gentle teaching, drawing from 2 Timothy 2 and the call to instruct without quarreling. We close with Habakkuk 2:20, a grounding reminder that the Lord is in His holy temple and all the earth is silent before Him. How to Trust God in Hard Seasons (When you feel Uncovered) | Season 10 Ep 4

Send Comments, Questions, Thoughts THANK YOU: If you’ve been blessed by the show or would like to support this ministry, I’d truly appreciate your help. You can listen, share, subscribe, and support here: https://buymeacoffee.com/bobigentrygoodwin Thank you for your prayers and support. God bless you! --------------------- SHOW NOTES: Evil can look unstoppable when you’re doing everything “right” and still getting hit from every side. I’m Bobi Gentry Goodwin, and I’m walking us back into Habakkuk with one focused verse that hits like a blueprint for hard seasons: Habakkuk 2:1. When the world feels loud, unfair, and spiritually foggy, Habakkuk shows us a different response than panic, numbness, or revenge.  We talk about why suffering feels so personal even though it touches everyone, and why bringing your complaints to God is not weakness, it’s wisdom. Then we zoom out to the prophetic context: Judah’s collapse in leadership, Babylon’s rise, and the painful question hiding underneath it all: will evil prevail over good?  From there, we break down three anchors straight from the text: posture, position, and patience. The watchtower becomes a picture of spiritual vigilance and expectancy, choosing a higher view so your vision is not clouded by chaos. The guardpost becomes a call to discernment and defense, guarding your heart and your faith when distractions try to pull you off the cornerstone. And the waiting becomes the hard part we can’t skip: trusting God enough to let Him answer on His timing.  If you need Christian encouragement, a Bible study on Habakkuk, or a practical way to wait on God without giving up, press play. Subscribe, share with a friend who’s in a fight right now, and leave a review telling me what you’re learning as you climb back to your watchtower. Support the show STAY CONNECTED... You can listen, share, subscribe, and support here: https://buymeacoffee.com/bobigentrygoodwin Thank you for your prayers and support. God bless you! ------------- SHOW NOTES: Are your feelings leading you—or misleading you? In this powerful bonus episode of Grab the Faith, we take a pause from our study in Habakkuk to examine something we all deal with: our emotions. What happens when disappointment, frustration, and unmet expectations start shaping our decisions? Through Mark 14:3–11, we explore the contrast between a woman who honored Jesus with everything she had—and Judas, who allowed his feelings, selfish desires, and inner struggles to lead him down a path of betrayal. This episode challenges us to: Examine what’s really in our hearts and mindsRecognize emotional triggers before they control our actionsUnderstand the danger of letting feelings override faithRemember that God is still God—no matter how we feelFeelings are real—but they were never meant to lead your life. What If Your Definition Of Winning Is Too Small | Season 10 | Bonus Ep 1 (Easter)

Send Comments, Questions, Thoughts Join us this week for a special Easter bonus episode as we celebrate the message of Jesus, featuring a powerful sermon from our special guest, Elder Donald Goodwin. Death, grief, and disappointment have a way of shrinking our world until “winning” looks like survival. We push back on that with a bold sermon title and an even bolder claim: because Jesus Christ is risen, you can refuse to lose. Starting in 1 Corinthians 15, we walk through why the resurrection is not a side belief but the foundation of Christian faith, why preaching has meaning, and why hope doesn’t collapse when life hurts.  We also confront the noisy definition of success that says winners are only the rich, famous, or powerful. Real victory is bigger than a paycheck, a car, or a house. We talk about faith as the truest measure of winning, the seed analogy makes it plain: what looks dead can rise because the Creator holds authority over death itself. That’s not motivational talk; it’s gospel reality with consequences for how we live today.  From there, we bring it home with practical encouragement for perseverance: constant prayer, staying focused on what God has planned, and refusing to quit when you’re sick and tired of being sick and tired.   If this message strengthens you, subscribe, share it with someone who needs hope, leave a review, and tell us: where do you need the courage to refuse to lose right now? Reset Your Focus, Renew Your Faith (getting back to what matters) | Season 10 Ep 3

------------------ SHOW NOTES: Your focus can drift in seconds, especially when life feels unfair and God’s answers feel heavy. We sit with Habakkuk 1:12–17 as Habakkuk brings his second complaint straight to God and asks the questions many of us are afraid to say out loud: Why would a holy God allow wicked people to win? Why use an evil empire like Babylon to discipline God’s own people?  We talk honestly about what it means to keep the lines of communication open with God when you’re disappointed. Habakkuk models something powerful: he understands what God says, still struggles with it, and still returns to pray. Along the way, we ground ourselves in core Bible basics about who God is. God is not the universe, not nature, and not an idol you can move around. He is the living Creator, sovereign over history, and worthy of trust even when the situation hurts.  If your mind has been pulled by fear, outrage, or what you’ve “seen” online, this is a reset back to what we know about God’s character and our identity as his children. Subscribe, share this with a friend who needs their focus restored, and leave a review letting us know what steals your focus the fastest. Support the show STAY CONNECTED...
