    In between pursuing higher education, teaching, and school administration, Steven wrote short stories, plays, teleplays, and film scripts; many of which were co-authored by one of his best friends, Alex Marquez.But it was not until he met the love of his life that his dream of being a writer would become more of a reality.  Karen was all any man could ever ask for. She was smart, funny, and beautiful. During their courtship, Steven made it a priority to write Karen an encouraging email before he went to bed so that she would see it each morning before she left for work. These emails contained scripture from the Bible and a few encouraging paragraphs to inspire Karen to seize the day. These emails came to be known as Daily W.O.E.s – Words of Encouragement. Karen loved to get up each morning and read her W.O.E. from Steven.Four kids later and a move from New Jersey to North Dakota, Steven has been working hard on his first series, The Veil Saga.     Derrick Jackson joined the U.S. Air Force in 1993 and served as a jet engine mechanic on the F-15 Eagle, C-5 Galaxy, C-141 Stratofortress and C-17 Globemaster. After 10 years of service, he was recruited to become a Special Agent with the Air Force Office of Special Investigations. His first assignments were as a criminal investigator at Tyndall AFB and Osan Airbase, Republic of Korea. He then volunteered to join OSI's Special Missions Branch at Hurlburt Field, FL to provide counterintelligence services for the Air Force Special Operations Command missions worldwide. After a brief stint at Bolling AFB, DC with the Protective Service Detachment, providing security for foreign dignitaries, Agent Jackson became the Chief of the Economic Crimes Branch at Joint Base Andrews. In 2014, Special Agent retired from the Air Force after 21 years of service. In 2024, Derrick published his first novel, Shadow One, loosely based on true events from his personal life, and career as a Special Agent. In 2026, Derrick will be publishing "The Raven Shadow" the second book of the Shadow One series. The story continues to follow Special Agent Devin Jackson on an action-packed counterintelligence mission to locate a downed American airman in Nigeria.
