    Prosecuting 'No Body' Cases

In this episode of the podcast, former federal prosecutor Tad DiBiase talks about the challenges investigating and trying murder cases in court when the victim’s body is missing.

DiBiase has tracked over 500 no-body cases and has written a book and created a website on the topic. He also works as an unpaid consultant to law enforcement agencies on no-body investigations.

In the FindJodi podcast interview, DiBiase shares his insight into several investigative steps taken in Jodi Huisentruit’s case. These steps include the convening of two federal grand juries, two decades apart, and the continued sealing of GPS search warrants obtained by Mason City police in 2017.

DiBiase, who successfully prosecuted a murder case without a body, also reveals what he thinks it will take to finally solve Jodi’s case.

    Two Parking Lots

    Two Parking Lots

Jodi Huisentruit was living on the top floor of Building C of the Key Apartments in Mason City, Iowa, when she was attacked and abducted in the parking lot at about 4:30 AM on June 27, 1995.

The KIMT-TV anchor had lived there for about 18 months.

Jodi was running late for work that day, and it’s believed that Jodi’s abductor may have been waiting for her in the parking lot, due to the short distance between the entrance to Jodi’s building and her car – just 10 to 12 steps.

The Key Apartments complex has three residential buildings and two parking lots.

On this episode of the FindJodi podcast, the team shares witness accounts we’ve gathered from other residents of the complex in 1995, which might shed some light on what happened to Jodi before sunrise 26 years ago.

Anyone with information about Jodi’s case can reach out to the Mason City Police Department at (641) 421-3636. Information can also be provided to the Iowa Department of Criminal Investigations at (515) 725-6010 or dciinfo@dps.state.ia.us.

Great podcast

I was 11 years old and lived in a town neighboring Mason City, Iowa. I loved watching Jodi in the mornings on the news. I constantly think about Jodi to this day. No longer living in Iowa, this case has stuck with me since I was a child. Hopefully my rate and review helps to get her name and her case back out there in the public.

Open heart wrenching

A really well done, professionally produced investigative podcast. I truly hope that poor lady can be found and brought home. Clearly, a bright light was extinguished when she was taken away.

Thank You!!

As someone who grew up near Mason City this story has always been important to me. We need to find out what happened to Jody. This podcast is not for our enjoyment as some podcasts try to be. This is the facts as they know them about Jody and her disappearance. Keep getting this story out there and keep up the pressure on the investigation. Jody needs to be found.
