Fire and Water Records: Favorite Covers

Fire and Water Records: Favorite Covers

Tune your ears to another extra-special episode of Fire and Water Records! In part 2 of a super-smash crossover event with Pop Culture Affidavit, the brothers Ryan and Neil Daly welcome guest host Tom Panarese to continue their already-three-hours-long discussion on favorite cover songs for another equally-long-conversation (seriously, what the hell is wrong with these guys?!!). What makes a great cover song? What's the point of covering somebody else's music? Do women sing Tom Waits songs better than he does? Do punk bands play Bob Dylan songs better than he does? Why does Panarese hate his sister? What genre does Neil like more than rock 'n roll? What song makes Ryan think about dying, but like, y'know, in a good way, maybe?

All these questions, and many more than you want to know, will be answered on this episode of Fire and Water Records!

    Fire and Water Records: U2

    Fire and Water Records: U2

Happy St. Patrick's Day, dear listeners! Fire and Water Records is proud to spend the day discussing the history and discography of Ireland's chief export: the rock 'n roll band U2. Join Ryan Daly and superfan Omar Uddin as they chronicle the band's atypically ambitious start in Dublin to falling in love with the myth of America from a tour bus, back across the ocean to the industrial cobblestone streets of Eastern Europe, only to return and conquer pop-rock and the world in the 21st century, all whilst crafting some of the most sonically charged, nakedly earnest, and aggressively catchy rock songs in music history. Also, Ryan reveals too much of his wasted teenage years, and it's totally cringe.

The best

Fire and Water Records is my favorite music podcast by far.
The hosts have great insights into the music and I love how they connect songs to there childhood. The Daly brothers have a banter that i know well because it’s how I am with my brother. It’s real and that’s what makes the show fantastic.
