Fireside

I stumbled upon this podcast from another great one (the world myths and legends podcast cast by Daniel Alison, I highly recommend that one too!) and for the last few days I’ve hooked. Kevin tells the stories I’ve been dying to find and haven’t had much success. I’ve always wanted to hear all the tales about the fianna and other Irish mythology. Kevin makes it sound like you’re with your friend, I really appreciate that. He makes the stories easy to understand, Kevin really is a superb performer!Thank you so much Kevin, keep up the great work! I’m from Northern California, but I’ve got Irish from both sides of my family and it makes me feel connected to my ancestors.

I can’t even put into words how awesome this podcast is. I’ve wanted to understand the folklore and mythology of my Irish ancestors, but it’s just not something that is easily accessible like Egyptian, Greek or Roman myths. I love that the the host is truly a bard in that he makes the stories his own and let’s them grow and live through his telling, while also explaining how he adapted them and also staying true to the spirit of the sources. Thank you for doing this podcast.

I love everything about this podcast! Production quality, the theme song, the storyteller’s voice, the sound effects, the stories themselves, and a wee bit of the craic. Simply charming on every level…
