    Dust, Death, and the Deliverer

    Read: Luke 24:13-27 (Don’t miss Jesus!) • Once you see Jesus in the NT, He becomes easy to find in the OT; II Corinthians 4:3-4: AND EVEN IF OUR GOSPEL IS VEILED, IT IS VEILED TO THOSE WHO ARE PERISHING. IN THEIR CASE, THE GOD OF THIS WORLD HAD BLINDED THE MINDS OF THE UNBELIEVERS TO KEEP THEM FROM SEEING THE LIGHT OF THE GOSPEL OF THE GLORY OF CHRIST, WHO IS THE IMAGE OF GOD = Genesis 3:15-24 (Reveals clues of the Savior; Exposes the consequences of the sinner) GENDER/NATURE/CONQUERER - Psalm 2:6-7, 12; Prov 30:4; Isaiah 7:14; Isaiah 9:6-7; Gal. 4:4; I John 3:5, 8 1. The Hurt of Mankind: God reveals Retaliatory Justice! • Adam & Eve sinned by eating and will now have to toil to eat • Adam & Eve rejected God’s role for them so the battle for control of the marriage begins • Satan sought to destroy the human race against God yet a special Human will destroy him - I Jn 3:8, …THE REASON THE SON OF GOD APPEARED WAS TO DESTROY THE WORKS OF THE DEVIL. 2. The Hope of Mankind: God reveals Gracious Provisions. A Redeemer is coming v. 15; Eve is the mother of the living, not the dying v. 20; Adam & Eve are covered by an acceptable sacrifice (remembrance vs removal from Heb. 10) v. 21; God keeps Adam & Eve out of the Garden v. 24; Death provides an escape to the sinful fallen world; Psalm 116:15; Romans 5:12-21; I Corinthians 15:45-49; embedded in the curse; someone will break the curse by becoming the curse; Isaiah 61:10 • Heb 9:22, • Heb 9:27-28, • Communion: We have always been saved by faith. We should praise God more than we actually do. 2.) It truly is overwhelming how much God has done for us. 3.) As the Redeemed say so, let praise be on our mind, hearts, and lips.

    Demonology & Deity of Christ (They actually go together - “I saw Satan fall”) There is unbridled arrogance and enormous egos when beings created by God are given incredible authority. Lucifer is the poster child of rebellion against God, but a few have followed his steps in their massive pride. Pride goes before the fall! Two kings and one common pattern: • Isaiah 14 - The king of Babylon • Ezekiel 28 - The king of Tyre (Isaiah 51:3; Ezekiel 31:8-9; 36:35) Demonology & The Deity of Christ: 1.     Review: Resist & Repent - James 4:7 = Two of the most important questions ever asked are answered in the first three chapters of Genesis: (1) How did we get here? 2) What went wrong? In my job; In my job; In my home; In my world Our struggle is not against flesh and blood - Ephesians 6:20-18; God’s law demands justice be paid! The Cross; The Law - Romans 8:1-2 God speaks in Genesis - Gen 1, 2, 3, 4 - God speaks in Bible - His mouth; His voice; His words God has already spoken to create; then to Adam and to Eve. He will today speak to the serpent. God speaks to Cain - to Noah, to Babel, to Abraham, to Moses Hebrews 1:1-2! God’s final word was/is Jesus! No more words needed; No more prophecy given; I. The Consequences of the Curse To the serpent - vv. 14-15 Cursed above all - Eat dust from now on - God declares war - “enmity”; Ephesians 6:10-18; I Peter 5:8; II Corinthians 2:5-11 God reveals the Savior’s birth God reveals a battle - God declares victory -
