    Can't Hardly Wait

    Can't Hardly Wait

Congratulations to the graduating class of 1998! In Can’t Hardly Wait, Preston (played by a stoned Ethan Embry) spends the entire night looking for Amanda (Jennifer Love Hewitt) to finally profess his love! As Blaire says in the ep, take a shot when you recognize someone, whether it’s Melissa Joan Hart, Seth Green, Clea Duvall, Selma Blair, Jason Segel, and many more. Costumes by Mark Bridges (Phantom Thread, Joker).

    Foxfire (1996)

    Foxfire (1996)

“What are you girls, hmm? Some kind of gang? Girls who run with foxes and that sort of thing?” Rollerblades, combat boots, flannel...there might even be a pair of JNCOs in this episode about Foxfire, the 1996 film about a girl-gang (led by a young Angelina Jolie!) who fight back against a creepy teacher at their school. Costumes by Laura Goldsmith (Alias, Leaving Las Vegas).

    Birds of Prey

    Birds of Prey

“You know what they say: behind every successful man is a badass broad.” In Birds of Prey, Harley Quinn is fresh off her breakup from the Joker, and ends up forming her own butt-kicking girl gang. The best part about it? Thanks to costume designer Erin Benach (Neon Demon, Drive, A Star is Born), every character in the film is sporting some serious style. Make yourself a Harley Quinn bacon, egg, and cheese sandwich and let us know which BoP looks you would #AddToCart.

    In Fabric

    In Fabric

"Did the transaction validate your paradigm of consumerism?"
This may be one of the most on brand movies ever. A surreal horror film, with costume design by Jo Thompson, about an "artery-red gown" that transforms the lives of the wearer.
We loved it but nothing prepared us for the gowns home, the sales people, or that mannequin scene. You can hear the shock in our voices BUT everyone should absolutely see In Fabric!

Fun Fact: Marie and Blaire have excellent podcast chemistry!

Honestly, what a great podcast! I really enjoy the banter between the two hosts, and it's clear how much they love films & fashion. What fun I'm having taking a trip down memory lane with some of my favorite films, while being inspired to up my fashion game at the same time. Love it!

Immediately Obsessed

Okay, I just listened to Marie on an episode of a podcast where she plugged her own podcast this morning and OMG I’ve already listened to 3 episodes. I’ve only listened to ones about movies I’ve watched, but it’s making me want to watch the others so I can ogle over MORE COSTUME DESIGN! Costume design is a very integral part of filmmaking, but it’s often overlooked or dismissed. I love that these ladies are teaching and preaching the importance of this aspect of film. Love it! Can’t wait to listen to more.
